First time effort at Wallie World. Buggered by 10.30 so probably missed the best of it. Lao shi was smoking as was 25. Good to see Greg and Jeff out and about too.

Melville, CA SP60, Goldwing 33 cm, 6.8 Blade.

I have forgotten how all the bits and pieces go together... My last GPS session was 2/3/2009!!!

Very unfit, heavy on the board, unco etc etc. Good times though... Good to see some of the guys I haven't seen in months!

Early session at Wallyworld. Scoped from mosman side about 7.15am to see big squalls moving through. By the time I got there it was gone. First time this winter that I have felt the chill.

Wind, glass, sun, rain, rainbow,s a dolphin and a bunch of mad Pinnas. Hardpole, Pointman , Macka

Good to see the Wannabees on the water too and 25 doing an interesting run screaming past the pier!

Wind swung all over with best run going up the strip and second coming down. Some good bullets but hard to be in the right place at the right time.

Sorry to hear about the troubles Nebbs and Chris. Well done on the Nmile PBCool. No good back up i'm afraid.

Welcome back Pugwash and top speed after such a long time off.

Good team effort!

Koncept 5.8, *brd nonose, 28cm JPslalom.

Nice arvo down at peli pt after what seems like an age off the water. Pretty chilly out there but heaps of wind and was great to get the blood flowing againTongue out Hopefully be able to get out a bit more now that uni has simmered down for a while.

Pinaroo with Toby.  Loft Blade 5.6, iSonic 94, C3 Venom 30.

Not my best session ever...

Woke up at 5 am, got to Pinaroo to find Toby already suited up.  Decided to rig the 5.6, even though he was on a much more sensible 4.5.

On the run out I was a bit overcooked, not majorly so, swell was higher than I've ever seen it at this spot, and I muffed the gybe.

Coming back I was totally, totally overpowered.  I kept getting pulled around the front, falling in, trying to waterstart, getting slammed, swimming the sail around again, losing energy, forearms cramping up, bodydragging for a bit, getting hit by a gust, losing the sail, swimming it around, having trouble getting it flying (yes, that f'n luff tube issue again).  Eventually when Toby came out to rescue me I told myself to "Harden the F*k up princess" and got going again.

Once on the beach I realised that my woes were caused by the adjustable outhaul slipping when I muffed the gybe.  So the sail had no outhaul at all - and in 20-25 knots in ocean swell, a fully cammed 5.6 that's bagged out all the way is a total handful.

Lesson learnt Embarassed

Great to sail with Toby again, good to see such enthusiasm.  Might try for a wave sail this arvo once my forearms recover.

----

Afternoon session:

This time I rigged my wave gear: Ezzy 5.0, Starboard Acid 80 litre, Drake 23cm.

The difference was like chalk and cheese.  I should have used this combo in the morning.

Lots of gybes in the flat water on the very inside, went for some duckies and some tacks, couple of kiters out but no aggro at all.

I can't believe that two sessions at the same spot, on the same day could be so very different!

As Toby says, it's all good training Smile

Early morning start with Mark, on the water by 8. But then realised my tightening of the footstraps had gone a bit too far, very hard to handle gusts when you cant get your feet in ! Back to the car for a screwdriver. Then some swimming, standing waiting. Then wind seemed to get better, but my boom developed a nasty wobble. Broken arm inside the head. So packed up leaving the others to enjoy the wind and visited the shop on my way home. Got the replacement part and fitted it so have a functioning boom again.

Numbers were a bit dissapointing but still had a lot of fun.

Cold, gusty, choppy Hardies. Still had a good fun blast.

Wondered why I couldn't get back upwind from AlphaLand when I discovered my outhaul had broken... what are the chances of this happening to both Nebbian and I in the same day??

Naish SP91; Koncept 5.8; FO Weedster 260

EDIT: Arvo session @ Hardies. Equally as cold, more chop bust less gusty. Had more fun than in the morning.

Added to distance and slightly improved my 5x10. Really happy to get a 31 knot peak on a straight reach (especially on the world's crappiest fin)

Naish SP91; Stealth 6.4; FO Weed 260

Thanks for the congrats guys. I know I have a much better Nm in me! That was my only straight line Nm all day.

Got down to Wallyworld early to see some fellow Pinna's getting amongst it.

Looked patchy and I wasn't enthused.

Decided to head down to Woodies. expecting some more wind.  Plenty of wind (20-30K), but very westerly, so no good for speed.  Rigged the 6.6 Koncept + 93 S-Type + 32 Goldwing and banged outs some alpha's.  Happy to score a PB, but still need to work on this category.

Pretty overpowered on the 6.6, so headed in to change down.  Got a text from Mark, saying he had a 36, so decided to head back to Wallyworld.

Second sesh on the S-Type + 7.5 Koncept + 36 Goldwing.  Pretty gusty, but scored a few nice runs.

Good to see so many punters on the water today!

Great story Nebs, that sort of adventure will root anyone real quick Wink

I've got a couple of spare unused ajustable outhauls here if you need any, don't use them. Yeh yeh I know I'm swimming upstream against the tide, get told all the time how wonderful ajustables are but that's just me Laughing

Congrats with the PB's Greg & Chris, nice Cool

Well done on the PB chris. I did not realise that was you until late in the evening chris, I was out with the NP RS Slalom and messing up practically every gybe initiallyEmbarassed Took me  ages to get the hang of a 5.8 on the Iso 105. Amazing what a difference a change of sail size makes. With a 6.5 I can nail most gybes o the Isonic.

Some of your gybes looked really good.

Hey Evets,

Yeah I finally figured out it was you when I came in and recognised your trailer. Didn't pick you on all the shiney new speed gear! You've caught the bug seriously!

Well do some runs together next time I'm down your way.
