Kyeemagh, NE 15-18 knots. Spent the afternoon teaching my mate how to waterstart at the top of the bay behind the breakwall. Dan managed to crack a couple, and with the dodgyness of the wind in there, and it being his first go on a short board ever, it was an awesome effort. There was plenty of swimming for me having to swim out and sail the gear back. Peak breaststroke spead was 4.5 knots. Hardly Hacketty's pace! I had my 5.9 rigged but was more comfortable on my old 6.6 vx3 on a 308 Caveman which Dan had been using. Cracked a 30 on it and a few high 20's, not bad considering the wind was dieing off towards the end.

narrabeen lake, ne 5-14knots, mostly 5

hypersonic 105, drake 32, rsrII 7.0

looked good when i got there, got out the back & every one went in... got quite a few good gybes in, a 17.66 alpha isnt bad with a max speed of 20.9.

Hooked in a few times on what i thought would be a planing gybe & went in backwards, you dont know gusty until you have sailed NE at the lake.

Goodwork Craig, you were honking this afternoon. My GT-31 froze up on me this afternoon, spewing!

Russ, that's a really dodgy place for wind! Might be much better off further down the beach between the ramps (if you can get a park!)

Congrats on the PBs craig!

So true Sean,

people talk of gusty winds but when you look up gusty winds in the dictionary it shows a picture of Narrabeen Lake. Nothing like the wind being anywhere from 1 to 20 knots and switching direction in less than 30 seconds. Keeps you on your toes.
