5418 days ago Heat 6 NSW Formula Series. Waited around for a long time for the wind to come in.
Sailed like a F#$kwit and am really pissed off, back to windsurfing 101 for me. Should have stayed home.
Startline crash left me and gear bruised.
Jp F100, NP RSR II 10.7, SP fin.

Really late start to racing, only two races today. Placings are a bit vague, but 2nd last in the first race (again ) and a 2nd in the second race - very happy with that one!

Breeze was late to come in but still managed to squeezed in a quick hour before having to call it a day. Pitty as the wind was just starting to be more consistant when I had to go. Still a fun afternoon with Troy and Pete.

A better sail than yesterday. Still frustrating with the wind swinging and gusting. Good to get two consecutive sails after a not sailing in so long!
Cheers,
Russ

A real light wind cruise with a few of the boys. One very lucky gust.

Today was a windsurfing character building experience & I had to draw on every ounce of my Catholic upbringing to come out the other side with a smile on my face.(I'm very lapsed one, BTW)!
Broke a mast, after breaking a boom last wk! Snapped the down haul strap/pulley on my sail & punched a hole in my board.
I turned up for an afternoons racing at 10.30am, on the water by 3.30pm & off the water by 5.30 with all aforementioned damage done!
Still.......I love this sport(strangely)......And for all the same reasons the rest of you do!

Sat around on the beach waiting for the wind, didnt look good so had a few beers with Russ.Must have done the trick,as with the wind picked up late so had a quick blast, not a bad sail.Still frustrated at lack of good wind this year.

5417 days ago 2 categories Started out hanging around down at Ramsgate with the Formula boys. Rigged up when they did on the hope of a freshening breeze....which it was. Started working my way upwind keeping an eye on the fleet, Sean O'Brien was going great guns on his beautiful Point 7 sails.
Lots of holes in the wind at first so lots of slogging. Only probably touching 13-14 knots in the gusts. The it started getting a bit more consistent so i started working upwind with the goal of making the top of Botany bay and hopefully a couple of runs down the runway. It took a while but I made it, caught up with Russ and Spanners on the beach, then 1 run down the runway which is where I got my peak speed. Spent the next half hour doing loooong reaches, spin out a couple of times, one catapult and blindness from the glare of the setting sun glistening off the water. Got back to the beach at Ramsgate and was absolutely stuffed. Not a particularly long distance but because it was totally non stop and I hadn't sailed in a while I'm really feeling it now.
Used RSR 6.7, Falcon 90 and 34cm Kai Hopf fin.
What an awesome weekend, dirt bike riding Saturday, Sailing Sunday, it doesn't get much better for me than that
