A nice sail with some of the crew , was pretty light when we got out there but a good hour later  it picked up a bit , but still really gusty SealedTongue out

Not much wind but new board. Cant wait to get it in some good wind and see what it can do.

iS101, 6.6 Koncept, 37 Sl7 - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SE / ESE 12 - 18knots

Beginning and end wind just wasn't there but middle of sail was good.  Had one big get off when nose of board plowed into some vicious chop and it submarined on me.  Quite funny actually as the board literally went vertically down throwing me over the handle bars, but without the severe slam.  Thought I had broken the boom (one of those generic Autima carbon) but this thing just cannot die.  It is now around 8 years old and still going strong although onto its 4th head.

Wello, Falcon 111, Nash Stealth 7.6 and a Meanline fin 39cm. At least I had the right sail today and was therefore planing most of the day, but I would have liked that little bit extra going down the channel, when the water was flat. It was a good gybe practise and I reckon if the wind had not died every time you came into the basin, I would have done some nice alphas. I had some with minimum speed around eight knots, so I needed only four more knots to plane through them. Five days in a row sailing, that's too much for me. I will hava a day off tomorrowSmile

Lots of dredging today, wind was very up and down. Picked up a little bit towards the end and i was able to do some good runs.

Wello with multiple mobsters.

Big gear and wind was late coming. But still good fun.

Bit late posting as I had left my GPS on when I drove home so I had to work out how to delete the invalids.

hey sausage , yeah the 42 talon and the 7.7 works very well but mind you the CA 66 has a wider tail than the IS 101 soido need that little bit of extra lift , but then again a bigger venom will do the same and if the wind is honking than yeah u can drop down  to a 38 or 40 ....

Odin and or Vando, I run a 42 Venom on a 111L Futura with a 7.8 Switchblade, this is my light wind root around setup. I was thinking a 38 Venom on my CA58 for when the 7.8 is powered up, what do you think ?  The 34 Venom and 6.8 Blade are the ideal on the CA58 in a perfect world Smile

Hey firiebob ,i would say the 38 would be big for the CA 58 with the 7.8 ,i would recommend a 36 would be ideal for a good drag race session , the 38 would give you too much lift and alot of drag and would have too work hard on the back foot which is not comfy....

I guess you have to try these fin sizes out to see how they feel but i would definatly stick to the 36.... i hope that helps.

Hey Firie not sure y you want to run the 7.8 on the 58 but hey Pierre does some pretty strange thingsUndecided.

I think if your well powerd on the 7.8 36 should be fine otherwise you will strugle but then you should be on the bigger board anywayTongue out

With the CA58 a 7.5 is it's upper range and the 6.8 is the sweet spot, nothing ventured nothing gained I guess.

Thanks for input Cool

I was using a 34cm fin the AB 59  with the 7.7m just didn't feel right couldn't point or plane early board felt very sticky just couldn't get comfortable, tried the 36cm in the board with the 7.7m and it changed the whole setup board jumped onto the plane in moderate winds and i could sail anywhere i wanted to go plus it did'nt feel draggy...made a big difference.

I think you should use a 70cm in the GA58 good workout for your anklesTongue out
