First time sailing down at the Sand Islands at back of Swansea Caravan Park.  Amazing spot and windy!  Nice flat water and sandy beach to launch from which is a rarity for Lake Macquarie.  Pushed hard to break the 2 sec PB but just couldnt seem to crack it.  Time for a new more upright fin maybe.   Great day - worth the drive.  Happy to get the hour PB.

I haven't sailed it but the back of Swansea looks like a great spot in either a westerly or NE er.

Hi Karl,

Its definitely good in a Nor-easter. :)

Not sure about a westerly though, the sand banks in close are fairly random in their location and height.  If you were coming up to Lake Mac to sail a westerly, I would recommend driving the extra bit up to the tip of Marmong Point.   Wind seems to funnel through a bit up there as well and usually will be a few others out.
