4971 days ago 2 categories What a day had a sunny breakfast at The Dip with Mag anmd then rigged 8.5 and took out the longboard as the wind in this direction is offshore. It soon clouded over and sadly the wind was lighter than hoped anmd not a good direction for cruising along the coast, much too west ! There is a good spot the far side of the shingle bar running along side the river but being high water it was,nt ready so I hafd a beat up the river to Ramsholt bend but the wind was very gusty and not strong enough so I returned to Bawdsey beach for a snack break and to watch the terns diving for fish :) Then conditions improved and while in the morning I was struggling to make 20 kts as the shingle bank exposed I had a good run of flat water and increased my speed 24/15/27/28 and then made 29.07 my fastest ever on a longboard !!!! try as I might I could'nt find the right gust to break 30 kts but it was fun trying :) There was some big wind at times and getting back upwind was a challenge.Bawdsey beach is a great spot in this direction and if the wind is strong enough it is possible to sail a slalom board here especially at low water. So a good day 7 hours away from the van and the only windsurfer out and nearly 30kts !!!!
My longboard record :)

4970 days ago West isn't my favorite direction at Brog. The sailing areas was pretty restricted (typically westerly) but it was a good chance to get out on slalom kit and practice my gybes. Best one was just 5 knots loss of speed... 20 knots down to 15 knots and back up to 20 knots.
