Kurrimine Beach, QLD, AU

Yahoo what a great blast finally. Very little water at the low tide but Herb and I ventured out. Wind 18+ and had the olde Bic Saxo with the 6.0 Infinity getting rid of cobwebs.

Kurrimine Beach with Rossco, Hoppy, who did not sail and Freddy, who was on fire today.   Rigged 6.6m (which was too big for me) this morning and went out on S/cross.....Couldn't handle the conditions so came in and watched Freddy slicing it up.     Low tide was at 2 pm and I went back out with 5.9m and Lyn's  "Old Yella" which is at least 25 years old. Took about half hour to learn how to step on but when I got it the memories came flooding back.     At low tide there is very limited water at Kurrimine,  and plenty of shoal water to cause grief.    Luckilly I was only running a 21cm wave fin, but Freddy raced up into the no go area and had a spectacular catupult which resulted in a nose job.

Congrats to Rossco on PBs....well deserved.

Lyn cut her feet yesty and I did the same today so we may go home for a few days to recover.

iS101, 7.0 Loft Blade, 37 KA Sl - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SE 12 - 17knots

Bit ambitious rigging the 7.0 but still surprised just how much range this sail has.  Darkness won out at the end although the full moon probably gave me an additional 15minutes.  Water was pretty rough too.

Kurrimine Beach, QLD, AU

Stayed over at Kurrimine with the legends Hoppy Bob, Herb and Lyn Sunday night.

Sailed half an hour sunday pm and about an hour monday am as tide was getting low.

Went out monday pm after change of tide expecting water may be a bit higher as the wind was good

but sailed into sandbar opposite boat ramp doing probably 25 knots.......went over handle bars with mast

coming down on nose of board.  Cracked the front of the board completly through from top to bottom for

about 200mm . Apparently things like this do happen when not thinking.

CA 55  (with ulcer on nose) 6.6 o2 loft and cut down Torquay fin (before the accident)
