Dissaponting and dangerous day.  11 metre swell pushing debris into the river made it very dangerous.  Knee high foam hiding the sandbar made for an impressive catapult by Dave as he sailed through the foam and straight into the sand at 30+.  The river was flowing several knots faster than yesterday and made it harder to head up river with any real speed.  Wind was straight across the run so sailed up and down for an hour, had a couple of spinouts with weed and grass on the fin and a couple of catapults from hitting submerged objects.  The wind started to pick up so decided to start going for 2sec and 5x.  As I headed off the wind 'bang' anothercatapult and the fin smashed through the deck of the board, bugga!  I sailed back in and Dave and I made the decision that it was far too dangerous and potentially very expensive to continueCry

Oh! yeh and we couldnt get right into the river because the tracks had filled in with water.

Cold but heaps of fun, I know the henty boys will make my result look slow, but Steve and I gave it out best shot in what was gusty up and down wind and chop. fos came down but everyone else stayed home by the fire.

Difficult start to the day getting bogged, then rigging away from the main area a drifting with the current out to where the wind was.  As Kaleb said, hard to see the bank and quite a bit of debris with the swell washing over the beach and into the run.  I was just trying to line up a run when I hit the bar, flinging me straight over the front, snapping a harness line as I went (luckily).  Too square again today and not really much windier, so happy to call it a day when we did.  Still worth it though.

Dorans, TAS, AU. Ha finally gotcha Russ. Awesome sail at Dorans. Wind was gusting from 5-30 knots, probably could have done with more wind. Russ and I got there at around 8am and no wind. Rigged up going with the forecast and wasnt long before the wind came in. Finally think I am starting to get the hang of going off the wind. Had the back footstraps all the way back (for the first time) and front footstraps in the middle. Board felt soo good with the straps all the way back, nose freed up and the board felt faster. First time for a while without the weight vest. Same combo as Dave yesterday and felt unreal. Isonic 09 86, Venom 32cm and Reflex 6.2.

So close on heading to Henty but decided to stay at home. Not a bad sail seeing as speeds were ran back the other way and some nasty chop at times.Hopfully bigger speeds tomorrow.
