Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Got there about 2-30 looked ok so sailed for about an hour..wind was ok out wide but started dropping within 500m from shore.

Come in and put the rig on the  beach and a f....ing dog run over my sail  and tore it.   My favourite loft 6.6 will need some tape.

The people walking the dog said it was not their dog and would go and get the owner.....next thing they're driving down the road

and gone. Go to wash my gear and tap fitting falls to bits......some days you get that.

Anyway put the gear in the van and within a minute Jason turns up for a sail.

Give him a hand to set up but his first trip out did not look good .....I left but hopefully he got a couple of gusts.

Jon Paul 126 JP and 6.6 Loft.

iS122, 7.8 Blade, 44 Talon - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SE 11 - 17kn

Wind just wasn't quite there but more than what had been forecast earlier in the week - 5th day in a row I've got out Laughing  Ocean seemed especially lumpy today and unfortunately have had to sail highish tides all week which makes for difficult conditions.  Never really lit but am enjoying this combo for the lighter stuff.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU.Got down the beach a bit late, but managed to get a quick blast in before the wind droped out at about 6oclock,wasted a bit of time had to do a fin change wasn't quiet enough wind for small fin with 6.6m sail on trusty 101board.my mate Rick came for a blast on Firie Bob's old Gladiator,he only had 5.5m sail but was still blasting the whole time.there was some guy on a flash JP board doing a few runs, not sure who he was..over all a good sail,in cruise mode the whole time..Cheers Ed..

Got to the beach late after work, didn't look terribly good. Freedy helped me rigup (thanks mate) managed to wallow out the back where I found some breeze. Cruised around offshore as the sunset. Nice way to end the day after being stuck in the office all day

Hey Freddy, not so good young man...hope you got their rego details??? I'm feeling for you, I cracked my mast last weekend. Looking for a replacement or am speaking to bloke tomorrow about getting it glassed. I reckon at the end of the day though, a crap sail is better than me having to spend the day at work my friend. I have throughly enjoyed all the post's this week and to all those who did sail and to all those who just sat and watched - bloody good luck to you all. Billy.

Bummer about the sail Freddy.....even though I don't really believe in Karma I hope it returns to those guys who drove off (with their dog)

Billy,   If the mast split right down at the bottom, it can usually be wrapped successfully.       However I would think twice about attempting to repair it at mid mast height.      Not much fun if the mast breaks about boom height.     Quite often it rips thru the luff pocket and buggers the sail as well.

Get a second opinion.

Sounds like a dog of a day Freddy.     To put it into context you have had that 6.6m that long I think it is a loft 01.  Wink

Bugger about the sail Freddy Yell

Good to see a few guys out, been a good week. I would have been down for the 5th day straight but been kicking my computer up and down the deck, started as a simple update then went to poo, using my young fellas when allowed Wink
