WA Sandy Bay Exmouth
An epic day with strong winds and brilliant sunshine. Attempted a downwinder from Sandy Bay to Neds Camp with Isaac DeVries but discovered the reef was endlessly shallow and decided to quit while sustaining minimal damage to self, fin and board!
The slog back upwind was hell and took forever. Isaac toughed it out to the end whilst I quit one beach before and was warmly assisted with a cold beer and a lift to my van. The people I met were really nice and even offered to feed me dinner which was way above and beyond. I thanked them but new I had to hussle as Roo o'clock was fast approaching and it's a long drive home at 25 kmh when you leave it too late!
