Melville WA Starboard Shyte Type 115, Neil Pryde Zen 6.1, Borgy's weedy

Headed to Mandurah to meet GPS crew. The rain didnt stop and the wind was lacking. Fortunately someone had a smart phone and with the BOM website indicating Melville was having good wind, bailed and headed back down the freeway.

Glad I did cause it was the best sail I have had for ages, although going faster seems impossible these days (any advice welcome). Thanks to the advice of the crew in Mandurah heightened my boom and felt the most comfortable for ages in the harness.

thanks Jeff, want to go faster tho. No matter what I do, cannot get the speed much higher..... any recommended reading / windsurfing technique books... plenty of time to read at the moment!!

Nice to meet you Bender too and thanks again for your advice.

Have you been on seabreeze, forum, windsurfing, gps & speed sailing and go to "ask the speed guru" and read what they say?

Nic, good to meet you today. Thanks for making the effort to come down. Sorry it was a fizzer.

We talked today about bearing away. This is the key to increasing your speed. Have a talk with Windxtasy about her learning curve over the last year +.

Yes. lao is right. concentrated on bearing away today and got the results. not the windiest day either, but tried to sail as deep as possible in the gusts and it paid off. Just have to be patient and set up for downwinder.

Yes, it takes a while.

First you have to ask yourself if you are prepared for this to become an obsession which will take over your life? Seriously.

Dont feel too bad, it wasnt that flash down at Luck Bay. Then again a few light weights  were doing OK. Only us OFB struggled in that today.Laughing
