Pointman (8480km): Dawn patrol at Peli. On the water @ 6 (I went to bed early JJ ). Slogged for the first 15 minutes. Shortly after hooked the gust of the day for a 35K on the screen and a 34K 10-sec. It dropped after that and I was struggling to crack 30K for the rest of the sesh, hence the 5x10 result. Also struggled to line up the gusts for a good gybe, so didn't manage any decent alphas, which was a shame cos it was nice and flat on the point. Still a nice sail, always good to squeeze one in before work . Norts appeared for a brief spell, but was gone by 7. Peter came down for a while, but otherwise I had it all to myself. F111 + 7.6 TR7 + 40 Sting.
JJ (6448km): Point Walter, WA, AU WW East - 7am start with Lao with Norts already out there. Good to see Anita too. Wind was an ok 15 - 20 knots but had to gust hunt to get any speed - water was a bit choppier over the bank today than last week. Isonic 86, Code Red 6.1, Black Project S 26.5 Great to see you got out Greg, sorry about the .02 Let's see what Lao comes up with.
Windxtasy (2881km): Point Walter, WA, AU Sonic, 5.8 Koncept, 28 vector Never felt really comfy today depite this being my fave combo (except I usually use the 32 fin, maybe that's it?), then Lao noticed my vent screw wasn't tightened, so I decided to call it a day and get the board drying out.

lao shi (27489km): Great morning with a bunch of crew at Wallyworld East. One properly powered up run through the choppy stuff but generally underdone for speed. Well done JJ! Top speedster! Mile had a gybe in it as the end ran out of wind. Alpha in by the car park. Looks like we need to do some team training LB6.3,Lurch,KA23
scarrgo (6801km): Point Walter, WA, AU wally world east second part to my night sailing sesh had dinner and it was really windy outside so thought i would make the most of being in my new house nice and close to the river got down there and it seemed really light but only had the 5 so got rigged and gave it a go anyway was far from light where was everyone perfect conditions, full moon, clear sky, high tide, warm and powered up on the 5.0 was quite nervious everytime i was going out but on the other hand it's amazing what not being able to see any chop can do for your confidence never the less although it gave me the confidence to bear away where i wouldn't normally it slowed me down not being able to react before i hit somthing the hardest thing about sailing in such low visibility was jybing, funny how about 90% of sailing in a straight line is by feel but to jybe sight is about 50% of the equation ended the sesh quite quickly as i didn't want to be sailing out there at anything below 100% of my ability and after a near crash in a huge gust and a few dropped jybes it was time to go in 5.0 koncept, 91 mistral sl, 32 ? pointer and wetsuit, life jacket, 2 night flares was fully powered up on the 5.0 most of the time with a few spots of over powered and a couple of underpowered there were well and trully some 30 knot gusts out there and these were about the only things that i could actually see coming all up a good night out
Ricey (1918km): Pelican Point, WA, AU Back to the Garmin. Not sure how 2 sec av is less than 10 sec av, but there it is. The GT-31 hinge broke so having to try warrenty. Cut my toe on the back of the old Drake fin I was using; cut right through the thick part of my boot like a knife, and I wasn't kicking hard. Iso 101 then 122 with 6.0 Gaitor - trying to learn tacking. So I got a PB Alpha! Did several nice jibes in the flat water - must have been one of them, but I am surprised.
Grumpy (5762km): Great place to sail. Lots of weed banks but its hard to find good flat water without ploughing through the stuff. Albany, WA, AU |
