Melville Beach, WA, AU 6.4 Koncept, F111, CF 40  15-18 knots?

The wind kicked in just after rigging for a light wind session and I was actually planing most of the time.

A PB gybing session in more ways than one, I scored a PB of 40% completed carve gybes today. Getting there at last, and feeling a lot more comfortable and in control.

Woodmans Point, WA, AU

Wind was around 15 knots at about 4 then got up to about 18 knots around 6 in the gusts.

Went out first on the Futura then first sail on the F2 XS 81 and new Hot Sails GPS 6.6.

The sail is great, not sure yet about the F2 although the NM felt ok for that wind.

F2 XS, Hot Sails GPS 6.6, BP S type 26.5

Pelican Point, WA, *B111, Reflex7.8, CF44

Felt a bit whiney this arvo Embarassed Was really looking forward to my first slalom race for ~2 years but got out in 14-15kts Yell Wind picked up in time for the first race, I started late and stuffed all three gybes. Too much swearing and cursing so I gave it away. Should be grateful that I got out on a weeknight but can't help being a bit cranky!

Peli for the slalom racing.

135 XFire + 8.4 TR8 + 48 Talon.

Didn't pack the 9.6 this morning and nearly drove home to get it.  Fortunately the breeze booted in late and I didn't need it.

Racing was a frustrating affair.  Big wind shadow near the start line and I struggled to get a decent start.  Also found it hard gybing the big board in the junky chop.  Missed the start to Heat 4 after hitting a hole trying to sail upwind, and couldn't even uphaul for Heat 5 Yell

Flagged both those heats and went for a blast across the river.  Well lit up at times and happy with the numbers on the big board.

Went to grab the Futura for a few runs and realised I'd snapped a tendon.  Didn't even notice til I went to swap boards, the safety rope held, but I have a nice divot in the deck of the 135 Frown

I don't usually name names, but I will on this occasion...avoid Aeron tendons like the plague, I've destroyed two this season (both new this season).

Went for a few runs across the river on the F111 + 40 Sting, but didn't improve my numbers as the breeze started to back off.

Good to catch up with a few crew I hadn't seen in a while Cool

JJ i have a the same SXXS they are great proxy speed baord for WA conditions being 235long x 54cm wide and 81L. I use mine in 20knts plus with sails of 7.8m, 7.0 and it it ever gets windy a 6.2m. The board needs a good fin to go fast in chop. i find a 28cm slalon fin is faster than smaller speed fins (23slingshot and KA23synm) in chop. i have used a 32F1 with great results.

The boards are not slow. i have had plenty of 37's on mine. They just  need serious wind to really get up and boogieCool
