Peli Point in mostly 16-18kn couple of gusts up to 22 or so. After a few dud days it was nice to finally get some time on the water. Wanted to test the lower range of the 6.3 today and it was just about right at times when it was 16kn with downhaul on the low side, goes nicely upwind on the 32 fin too. Plenty of crew out enjoyoing it today. Called it a day early so as not the stress the foot too much  - but it felt pretty good out there today Cool

Fun sail with Norts and Murray

Wind was a bit patchy around 15  to 18 knots.

Found it hard to keep my front foot in the footstrap, any clues?

Wrong choice of location, kit. 0-18 knots and odd bits of weed at Wallyworld.

Appearances from Grumpy and Ado before the wind disappeared all of a sudden.

So freakin gusty today. Frustrating sail trying to piece together the gusts. No chance of a nice naughty run. I sailed up to wally world and had a few fun laps with the capt'n. The run back to Melville was hell, slogging through big holes then getting hammered by the gusts. One gust threw me over the front and then threw me over again trying to water start. By the time I got back to Melville I was completly stuffed. That has to be the hardest Pb I have ever got.

The one thing that made the day for me was I made my first strap to strap gybes, they need a little refining but its a nice way to turn the corner.

JJ,I have had 3 of the same year F2's (still have 2) that you have and I have found that on certain sizes I had to move the front footstraps up so you are more over the board and the left front strap had to be tight fitting, also when blasting along point your toes up and dig your heel into the rail.

When you get used to them they are great boards  but are slightly different to ride from the isonics, these are my observations and I hope this helps Smile

Also the mast base should be slightly back from the centre.

P.S. Judging by your speeds its agreeing with you Cool

JJ after one big off the other month with front foot coming out was talking to Izzac about it , he said lower the boom slightly as brings more weight onto front foot. Worked for me today when light up forward. Its a balancing act coz you want to fly the fin, so boom down but mast base further back.

Cracked the ton Grumpy awesome work in that swiss cheeseCool

Damo and Ray Gun - thanks for the tips

Ray Gun - I sail with the boom fairly low but can always try lower still.

Damo - what do you mean by moving the footstrap up? The board is cool - glad you put me on to it, I just have to get used to it.

I had the mast base about two thirds back today, maybe I should try right back?

Grumpy - congrats on the PB - good going to get that distance today - even the ocean had gusty wind, must have been extra tough on the river.

Congrats Grumpy, impressive distance,JJ I am talking about moving the front straps forward rather than having them over the rails, mast base postion about right, but I am no expert, just my observations after using them for the last 3 years, hope this helps Smile

Congratulations Grumpy. Sounds like hard work. Maybe I didn't miss too much by not being able to get out there yesterday...
