Canton Beach, NSW, AU

Loft 02 5.9m, Tabou Rocket 105, custom weed fin.

A pleasant day windsurfing with friends. It took a while to get rigged. I decided to rig my Loft 02 differently to how I have before. Usually its rigged on a Neil Pryde X6 460 mast. Today I rigged it on a French 400 mast with 44cms of extension. The sail rigged well. Then I decided to get some batten bolts that came as spares with my new Hot Sails Maui sails and screw them in the two battens without the bolts. Tensioned up the other battens too, something I normally don't worry about.

Out in the water the sail felt good but too much pressure on the arms. So I raised the boom a few cms and it felt much balanced. Achieved some great planing gybes and had great runs. The wind was pretty consistent and the gusts came through quite strong from the west south west. This is a good direction here.

Later after a downwind run saw 30.4 on the GPS so really happy to break the 30 knot barrierSmile

I tried to do some nautical mile runs but couldn't get a decent run. However really happy to have a fun and speedy sail at Canton Beach. For those who didn't windsurf today, sorry but you missed out.

Thanks everyone. It was one my best days for windsurfing, I really enjoyed it. The board, the Tabou Rocket 105 was great to use in both the chop and the flatish water.

No other Demerit got out with their GPS? I know Sparky is overseas and Adrian was busy with family but it was a Sunday, it was windy, it was sunny.....

Even if you are going out for a bumpy jumpy windsurf, strap on the GPS and put some electrical tape around the pouch to make sure it doesn't come off. If for nothing else but to document your sessions.

My wife took some video of some of the action. I've taken a bit to make a short video to show what the conditions were like yesterday:
