Elwood, VIC, AU, Short after work session with Bondy and Jman and quite a few IWC / Southerly Busters during  a RPS event, enjoying the three dimensions of bay sailing, (or may be there's not enough water in the Invy inlet :-)

Rigged big as wind threatened to drop, initially good combo but it picked up in gusts quite a bit and was overpowered in the end when I packed up after 7pm.  Good session again, but the bigger fin is beckoning.

What was the RPS event?

I believe it was RPS getting together with the Inveloch Windsurfing Club to do an instructional Session on sailing in Bay conditions.

Pretty big turn out and perfect conditions for it.

The Inlet is sanding over at low tide, so we are extending our skills to include chopWink

My 6.6 Koyote, too much in the bigger gusts as well Jak.

I took the day off yesterday and headed down to Inverloch. Running a 26cm fin and 5.2m so not too much trouble avoiding the shallow spots but it's deffinately not the Inverloch of a few years ago. Still a great spot for learning though, or those with in interest for some freestyle. Good to hear the Busters had a go in the bay.

Ahh Evan with every spot closing down there always a new spot opening up on the Inlet.  We have discovered a few new ones lately.  I am also running a Delta fin over the end of the old run and there is a narrow doorway through the back into open water.  When the Inlet is on we still pull 26 - 32kts 2 sec peaks and ADO pulled another 42 at 45 before Christmas.  So there is still plenty of go in the Inlet yet for us beginnersWink
