Canton Beach, NSW, AU

On water early but pretty light and struggled. The wind picked up later on and was a great day. Surprised with Nm as when I tried it was really light and totally underpowered the whole way. Trying new Falcon 112 and the chop was bloody terrible and huge clumps of surface weed.

Highest water level Iver ever seen but when wind picked up it was hard yakka but good to be powered even if the old knee was suffering. Doing bearaways in that chop was scary. Johnny and I had a few runs trying to find flat water down the bottom etc but no chance of that. just too high a water level.

Great guys to sail with, Millsy, Mick, Pugs, old Pete, Greg, Bill, Menno, etc etc.

Falcon 112, 99 and Evo IV 7.0, weedy's 25 and 24.

Larko,

Good results man. I took off at the same time as you one run, and you were on warp speed. Left me for dead. Dont know how you do it.

Thanks all. As I said quite surprising with the lightish wind and horrible water conditions. I reckon if the water level was normal it wouldve been a great day for trying when the wind honked in.

Mike, I reckon the pond would be 4 gybes easy Frown

On the new 112 Falcon mate, it was a slap-a-thon at times. Felt good in the chop though but my re-shaped weedy wasnt real flash, more work to be done. 25cm was too small for the conditions.

Hey Larko - nice Nm fella!

Is there much difference in feel/speed between the Falcon 112, and last years 113?

Bloody small fin mate. Same one you rode at Booti?

Hey Adam, I used the 25 in the new Falcon 112. First time so its all new but didnt feel too good. probably too small for a powerful 7.0 and 112 litres & my carcass in that nasty chop. the only other weedy i have is a 32 F/O but the screws dont line up. Buggered if I know why?? All my other fins are fine??

Have no idea why but it was letting go off the wind compared to upwind. Was shit loads of weed and big lumps??

When I switched to the 99 the 24 was great as usual. It just hangs in there and is just one of those "keepers".

Im no expert but the new 112 feels so much more "controllable" and you can push it up and downwind as hard as you want. Just cranks mate!!!

Definitely a plugin and go hard type of board. Especially if your an old decrepit bugger like me Embarassed

Super impressed with your numbers the other day, thats smokin mate!!!

Cheers mate - that 79 rocks!

I think that I must be over finning my boards perhaps. I use a FO 38cm weedy on the 113 with an 8m, and on the 99 I use the 7.3m with a 34 FO weedy. On the 79 and 6.6 I use a 30cm FO weedy................ I absolutely have poor weighting technique on my feet - the saying 'light feet' doesnt apply to me......I am more like gorilla feet!!!!!   Maybe if I changed my posture and tried to lighten up my feet a little, perhaps I could use smaller weedies. ummmmmmm, dunno if I am making sense? All I remember is that at Booti you smoked us all and you were using a bigger board than me, way smaller fin and a slightly smaller sail and I am guessing you are a bit heavier than me as well. You were shaking and baking LArko!!!!!!
