Port Douglas, QLD, AU Nice start to a new season. Haven't rigged a sail for 3 months , I could smell wind coming up the coast for a couple of days, was windy here yesterday but didn't sail as i wanted it to blow for a day to get rid of jelly fish ,nasty barstards they are,and i don't wear gay stinger suits...Rigged 7.3m north sail and took trusty old AHD out for a blast..Was keen to give it a run as it has not been sailed since it got totaly trashed by face planting a very large turtle doing 26kts at the end of last season.The board needed a total nose reconstruction job, plastic surgery and botox to make it look good..Had an enjoyable but exciting late afternoon seasion in 15 to 18 kts..Rig and board felt good carving up some nice choppy water on an in coming tide..would of liked to of done some more kms but the good wife said i had to be home by 6 o'clock...
