5929 days ago Long day. Started at around 9:45 am on iSonic 122 and 7.6m SSR. About 15-18 knots as I rigged, but soon after hitting the water it became really gusty, with nothing in the lulls. So much for the 1 hour !! Spent 3.5 hrs grovelling around trying to find squalls and trying to get the distance up. Then noticed my boom head was cracked and that it was getting worse as I was sailing so headed in. Smaller boom only goes up to the 5.6 sail, but decided to rig it anyway and go back out on the iSonic 101. Still really gusty, probably perfect now for the 7.6 on the 122, but now way underpowered with the 5.6. Some good squalls though. Then a front came through and the wind went from a gusty 5-20 knotNW'er to a solid 35 knots from the SW. Sailed about 8 runs, but just too rough (and windy) so called it a day (bump-n-jump sailors were loving it).
Well done Izaak and Jordon for your PB's, awesome stuff. Your 33 knot top speed is fantastic Izaak.
