went to stanley today hoping to get the one hour ect,but wind did not come in as the weather predicted.today the wind was around 16 knots and one gust of eighteen...maybe. there was not enough water to sail the second channel to do the full run but any way the water was unbelievably FLAT.

Went to Stanley with Izaak, Jordan and Perks, tide was too far out for any serious distance but we found a channel with about a 400 m run finally cracked into the 20's for an alpha I found a new way to roll up your wetsuit sleeves -do a face plant into the sand from 27 kts to .7 of a knt in 2 sec.  The Nm had 2 gybes and 1 tack

Forecast was looking good.  Drove to Hobart, but no wind, so kept going to Pittwater, but no wind, so kept going out to Marian Bay.  Blowing solid 20-25 knots from the ENE.  Tide was low and looked great.  Planned to rig the 5.6 on the 86L iSonic, but as I was rigging looked like it had dropped a little so rigged the 6.6 instead.  Got out through the shallows (and the weed) into the main run and the wind had dropped to about 15-18 knots.  Did three short runs and then the wind died to about 10 knots.  Had to walk a full 2 km back in waist to knee deep water.  Boat nearby was gutting fish and all the gulls were circling.  Kept thinking about the shark thread on Seabreeze.  Anyway more walking than sailing.

Glad you guys got a better sail up north.  Still good to get out though.

Great to be out at Stanley again after so long, it wasnt the best but still good. When we got out the tide was rushing out so there was a limited amount of water in the first channel so we rushed out to the second. You had to dodge a sand bar halfway along the run but still pretty good. Would have apreciated a little more water and a lot more wind but still ok. Overall a good trip to stanley and i am looking forward to the next one.

Nice guys, that looks like an awesome spot. Wish we had somewhere like that in SA, the goolwa alpha channel only works once in a blue moon. I still havn't had a go on it yet. It was all happening during my surgery in melbourne so a bit disapointing lol.
