bang,crash,thump..through the cervantes chop for the windsurfing perth cervantes speed challenge.

interesting sort of day spent the first couple of hours in and out of the water stuffing around with rigs, rigging and fighting the urge to vomit..nothing like sailing through washing machine chop to try and clear the head..

the forcast through the week was looking dodgy at best but decided to make the 3 hour trip ant way.

was quite happy to find 18 knots from the unusualnortherly direction first thing sat morning. it pretty much stayed 18-23 untill dusk with maybe a 20min window of 10 knots in the middle of the day.

Claude was the machine as usual and took t he day with great sailing through Very choppy conditions.

Cervantes speed comp, too choppy to go fast with WNW wind but a great spot to sail on a Souwesterly, Thirsty Point is an apt name for this spot, a lot more drinking than sailing going on here, Sundays blast to Kangaroo Point and back was great fun and good practise for Ledge to Lano. Thanks to Reg and crew for a great weekend.

Bender struggled to get over 50 km/h, but a gentle gee up and a smaller board saw him easily beat both 50 and me !!

Thanks for the gee up Paul, it was timely, as soon as i jumped on the smaller board the wind picked up.

hi Nic,

not sure about the 44 it was Chris Adamson's i think, he may be able to elaborate..

hardies is in the southern suburbs, at little place called mandoorah if you can navigate to the novarra boat ramp you have found the spot!. check the seabreeze posts under speed for further details

you can do a search there as well for my email under 'snides8' and that should get to me.

cheers
