Boombuster (20155km): Got down late after family commitments the tide was to hi for any flat water & wind was about 30kts + at times it was a bit dangerous for this old bloke. CA50 Stealth 5.8 Tectronic 26
Vando (27318km): Wow what a day the wind was howling all day but had to wait till about 3:30 to sail the bank. Only a very small window where the water is deep enough but not over laping the bank maybe 30 min at best first run i hit 40.5 whoohoo but that was the best it was going to get the wind then back off abit but still getting 38s,39s then the water started coming over the bank as well as weed so i called it a day. Great to see so many guys out.

mikey (6316km): Tried a new place- Aquatic Paradise, near wello. Out with Brad. Followed him in on 1st run, just inside, just behind when he hit bottom and catapulted at bout 32kts. Only did a couple more runs but run only 100m or less of flat. Not a good place!
Sausage (12509km): Nice Sunday sail - not. Westerly wind was between 5knots gusting to 28knots in 2min bursts. Really difficult conditions and a heap of sailing boats had to be towed back into main beach as they were being blown off to fiji. 133 Carve had too much fin (46cm Drake slalom) during gusts and kept cavitating at top end speed no matter how broad I went. Would of loved to have had taken smaller board out in boat and sailed only during gusts as water conditions were the flattest it can ever get in Keppel Bay. I think this is the fastest I've managed to get the *board Carve to go. Carve 133, 46cm Drake freeride slalom, 8.5m Ezzy infinity.
mkseven (4114km): Wow what a day or rather 30min. Need to spend some more time on the fast gear, wanted more power but sailing window too short to adjust anything. Was getting more comfortable each run, unfortunately the wind dropped slightly and the chop increased. F2 missile, 26 unknown fin, 5.3m Gaastra F1 flow. |
