I can sail again!!!!Laughing

The knee is healing extremely well so the damage must be quite limited. I thought I would have a go just to see and whilst I had one or two moments of pain, mostly there was none.

Not very windy by the time the tide went out. 15-20 knots max. Direction all over the place from WSW to south but mostly SW. Craig had been sailing since very early and got the best wind on the (very) high tide. Spotty turned up as well which took the pressure off me a bit.

The MI guys had quite a few runs. Again they were a bit underpowered but I think had two runs with peaks over 50 knots. They will have to precess the tracks to find their average but, while it may be close, I don't think they have taken the record. Again, they just needed a few more knots. I think they are all over for this year now but looks like they are coming back in Feburary.

A cruisey sunny day on the 6.6 and 112L, did one run on the CA44 but no faster.  Surprised to see Daffy out after seeing his knee wobbling sideways after B2B race, great effort getting 100 ks in.

Kato thats a surperb effort to carry on in such variable conditions great work.

MI looked reliable and easily clocking over 50knots on its first of run, the wind just needed to be a bit stronger and consistent.

ran out of wind, will add more details latter.Bit tired.Distance is off the Navi as real speed has it at 6000km

Just finished doing the edit on all the data as R Speed was a bit off

I started rigging at 5 am with a KA 5.0 and 5.8 and as tide was right up at the BBQ i had to walk/float everything in, on the water by 7 am. The wind was all over the place,W to S 5 to 45kts. Durning one squall i had to stand on the sail in the water to stop the gear going to Foster. Spent the next few hrs on the CA40 chasing smooth patches in the chop. Great fun even got a few jumps in. Also spent alot of time floating waiting for the wind to come back inYell. The wind backed off so onto the Kids Pro with the 5.8 for a few hrs untill i ripped out a footstrap chasing Daffy and Spotty around doing one hrs. Next board. Rigged the V8 7.0 and jumped onto the AB with the 5.8 untill the wind got even lighter. Next sail. The last hrs were on this combo, just so easy to sail. Thanks John for selling it Smile. Finely gave up at 9pm after clocking the tree on the east bank and going over the front. The wind was very light by this stage and i was having to pump the sail out of every jybe. Most of the runs were about 1.2 ks long which meant a lot of jybes (about 190) I was hoping to do 200nm but just missed out,the stops for MI probably didn,t help but the rest was good and i want to see them get the record. The new harness worked really well with no hip soreness and the rest of the body pulled up pretty good, just a small hole in the toe. Good to see that Daffy,s not as broken as first thought. Bring on next yearTongue out

For the moment i,ve changed the distance to 273km as that the distance that i can reproduceCry

All fixed,lesson learnt

dunno how you guys cope with those whopping great lumps of evil sharp chop, and viscious gusts... I'm just jealous...

Slowie it was bloody terrible, the only ramp I could find was the wash off the MI support boat going back and fourth and not enough wind to use the CA44 with 6.6.

Great work Kato, you've definitely got a 400 in you. Just need a consistent day and you'll regain the distance crownCool

Just found this while looking around at other stuff. Fantastic distance Craig. Well done. The distance bar is getting higher and higher...... surely we are getting near the maximum for daylight. Oh yeah i remember that is not even necessarily such a big problemSmile. I look forward to seeing what is nextCool
