Went out with the view of doing an hour again, Dannsy said he'd toodle along for something to do. had wind all the way across tonight which was nice, Jeeze Tim you are right Claudesville is amazing on the other side of the platform.
First run was done in typical Elmo fashion blasting out from shore we come accross some tosser in a dirty great big boat trying to see if he could get in front of us rather than letting us past, hit the wake behind the boat just as it jacked up and got launched skywards, board would have got easy shoulder high on a cack handed jump which I promptly stacked the landing.
Still wouldn't say I was completed powered up as the board was banging the water pretty hard but there was definately enough to keep going.
Was working on the gybes after reading up on the internet which seemed to help.
Last run across to the other side I was contemplating doing a few sneaky runs in Claudesville as it was about 4kms of flat stuff, when I went to unhook to go for a gybe and I couldn't unhook Hmmm whats going on here I ask myself, look down and the harness line is inside the hook, it is at this moment that my muppet brain kicks in and say's to me "shit I've broken a harness line" even though I've just been sailing with it. Logic eventually kicks in and I try to have a look past my fat gut cant see the spreader bar (podgty basket) feel along the spreader bar and find that 1 side of the hook has broken Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt I'm 8km's away from base Controled crash get the harness line untangled from the hook and very very very gingerly sail back to base with a liberal trikle of brown running down my legs.
Got back watch Hard's belting down the run thought I'd have a go at that, rigged up the 84L and my newly modified Funkyelmo fin, went for a blast, tried taking a shport cut and scrunged the fin smeg! eventually got out of the shallows and got a bit of a run fins behaving quite nicely, cool it'l be ok for a windier day, coming back when SSSSSSCCCCCCCCCCCRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE
Bugger I just ground the bejesus out the fin on the big flat limestone reef I was telling Dannsy about, oh well back to the sander the funkyelmo goes.
Big thanks to Pedro for keeping me company on the one hour, realistically I was mainly watchig him dissapear into the distance. Also for the spare spreader bar
Thanks to Hardy for giving me the reason to push myself harder than I would normally
Congrats to Pepe and Evets for their PBs today, onya boys looks to be a good rivalry starting there
