Great to meet some more of the MM - Hardie that makes it 12/14 sessions now! Hope Binny gets better really quickly.

Twilight racing at Peli.  Heaps of fun in a gusty seabreeze.  It was solid 20-25K when I got down there @ 4.30.  Backed off a bit (17-22ish) during the races.

Started out on the G115 + 7.5, but the wind picked up while I was rigging up and it was solid 25K in the middle of the river.  Changed down and did a few runs across the river on the Manta 59 + 6.6 Koncept.  Switched to the Gladiator 115 for the racing.

Had too much downhaul on the 6.6 so I was a bit undercooked in the races and struggled to get planing after the inside gybes, but still enjoyable.  Makes me want to do more racing, it's great for the fitness and skills!  If you haven't tried it yet there's two weeks to go, so get amongst it.

Sailed 3 heats before I had to pack up as I was due home at 7 and was 30 minutes late as it was.  Next week I'll pre-book the leave pass and sail all the races!

No data on my card Frown (dunno why...heaps of free space!), and the internal memory must be full, cos the most recent data was from October!!  Got the peak speed and distance off the trip meter.

Great introductory session down at Hardies run with Mark and Patrick! Was good to meet all the local gurus (and snides!) Had a bit of an undercooked session, unfortunately the wind didn't really get there but bloody hell that is one awesome NM spot!!! only had one crack at it and was finding it hard to bear off, can't imagine how good a powered up run would be.

Big congrats to Patrick who smashed some pb's today (and a fin :P). Great work!!!!!

Pelican Point twilight racing.  Just made it to the end of the briefing after work, no time to tune or even try the gear before the first race.  Most races I had a shocker of a start (no stopwatch) so finished well back in the pack.  Still fantastic fun though.  The standard of sailing there was awesome, better than I remember from the queensland series although both series I was close to the wooden spoon position so don't know what the front guys were doing... I suppose 4-5 sailable days a week compared to 1-2 has got to help matters.

Great to try out one of slowboat's fins, compared to the 36 C3 Venom it felt a lot more stable, less spinout, easier to correct when it did let go.  Board felt balanced, everything working together nicely, I think that this was the final piece of the jigsaw.  Eventually I twisted his arm and bought it Cool

Rigged for the big blow that just didn't come in. Fastest speed running down the sticks and it was super flat at the bottom but not enough power. Nmile probably would have been better with bigger fin as there were a fair few holes. Well done to Snake and Patrick on the PB's.

Sorry about the fin, Patrick. Feel a bit responsible. That break looks strange though. Don't think I have ever seen a fin go like that. Worth visiting the shop and let them have a look.

Happy with the alpha on a weedy. Didnt really spend time on them just did some on the way back upwind.

Peli Point: Had fun with Ben and Greg at the Twilight Slalom on the river. It was a bit of underpowered drag racing with other pinnas whilst getting thrashed by the pros. But great fun.

I seem to have forgotten my mantra lately of "go big" seem to be underpowered a lot....

Well done Patrick...you've even trumped a few of the veteran crab munchers with those speeds SmileTongue outWink

Sailing the run is pretty awesome (makes Peli Point look like Bass Strait!).  Just a shame it's so far away for us northerners!

Mark, nothing like a bit of intra-team rivallry huh?

Just had a squiz at the team rankings and it's obvious I've got some work to do on my alpha's and hour!  Distance?  Dunno how I'll ever manage 200 clicks...you blokes obviously got too much time on your hands!!

That was great fun racing with you Marcel, I'd love to give that Ezzy of yours a go some time.

You always seemed to get a fantastic start, while I had a bit better straight line speed... we ended up evenly matched over the races.

Any time Ben. It is starting to get a little old now... (I should say very well used)... I am thinking about upgrading it. I have made some enquiries about the loft blades in the last few days...it would be good to hear the pros and cons on these.

Pointman, just in case you haven't checked, make sure you NAVi is still writing to card. The data logger should always have the latest session on it. It will dump the oldest to allow new, or so I thought.

Have you tried the NAVi download unit itself from the NAVi  site? the NAVi regardless should have the data on it, even if the write to card stopped.

btw Pointman I suggest you go through your settings on the NAVI and make sure they match the ones on this page:

great crew turn out guys and numbers to boot!! great to catch up with some of the pinnas at hardies and meet snake...twas a good day even tho the wind didnt show!

and well done on the team sail stickers Chad! great idea and very professional looking as well (got a sneak preview at hardies)

this concept may be something that could be organised by the challenge site through which teams can order and purchase through a common supplier via the gps team challenge entity...??

Hi Snides,

Yes we said about a month ago that we would do that for this year's fundraising, it seems that some unnamed Pinna jumped the gun.... Smile  Not to worry I might just steal the design and flog it off to all you unsuspecting punters Wink

Hey Nebs, I kept an eye out for you but either didn't reconise you in the crowd or I left too early.

We'll head down to Hardies the first sign of wind, I already have Elmo's number.
