Mission to Woodies. Too many kites, too little wind. It did kick in just as we packed away.

At least 20 kites all over the strip!

Serious chop on the outside but nice and smooth on the inside. Had hoped for more from the alpha's.

Koncept 5.8, JP84, 28cmJP

Fun session all the same.

Peli Pt - no windFrownYell THEN, WINDSmile Then sailed to Pt Wally 2 runs on the track with power, 2 without... Bloody slowboat brought his personal wind shadow - so I packed it in and sailed back to Peli Pt...

Was crazy windy in the middle for about 1/2 and hour.

Loft Blade 6.8, CA SP60, Tectonics Goldwing 33 cm.

Woodies and Kites, kites and more bloody kites was the story!!! Got a few good runs in the lighter wind though at the start. Alphas were good at about 80 to 100m proximity.....Tongue out should have sent one of us out to float after all Mark!! Nice to get down there and sus the spot out though for the future !

Sonic 85, RS6 6.2, Goldwing 30

Pinna raid on Woodies with Lao and the Snake.

Manta 59 + 6.6 Koncept + 32 Goldwing.

Fun sesh in 18-23K.  Huey cranked it up a notch as we were packing up (took a wind reading and it was 25-30K Frown).

Not to worry I had a lot of fun sailing with the guys.  Not enough wind to really crank up the speed and way too many teabaggers clogging the strip, but unfortunately that's the norm at Woodies these days.  Of course they mostly cleared out after 6, but it was too late by then.

Went for some Alpha's and scored a PB, so well pleased with the sesh overall. Cool

Edit:  got the doctored file from Mike and the Alpha PB was a spike Frown (Still a PB, but only by a bees dick).  But the other numbers slightly improved. Undecided

5.8 Arrived in country 7am after leaving site at 2PM. Got a couple hours sleep in the morning. Went and saw Chad, got the sticker. Your right Chad that is the best place to have it. Had a great relaxing cruise, until BANG - I thought a rope had snapped but found a large crack in alu boom. Luckily could turn and sail in to beach on other arm. I think it was the safety warning - you are too tired - go to the nearest beach and rest ;-) Still great fun, had mast base a little bit further back than normal and was just carving nice big curves. After a week of 12+ hour days and little sleep it was wonderful.

Mark I'm getting an error message in Realspeed: "Out of memory".  WTF??

Never seen this before.  I'll reinstall, but in the meantime can I email you my track from today?

Pointman, its a problem with you new file, there will be a huge spike in it, and it cant read it, runs out of limit on program.

Email it too me and I will see if I can fix it. The RSpeed program wont be faulty. Paul Dvorak had same issue a few weeks backFrown

James- In the end it seemed the wind was just teasing all of us. How great would it be to get 20-30kt seabreezes again... back in the day they seemed to be weekly events. Nice going with the speeds maaaate.

I went out at Scarborough, caught some great rides, got the stoke back.  Slightly underdone on a 5.0 but enough to have some fun (and land one HUUUUuuuuge jump, felt like I'd gone into orbit).

Good to see you boys getting amongst it Smile

Woodies is a nice spot when it's very windy, the tide is high, and there are no kites. Unfortunately this is bit like saying that St Georges Terrace is a nice place to race your car; "If I didn't keep getting those damned red lights!!!!"

I know someone who got pulled up for car surfing on the terrace... a long time ago... he got off but the driver got fined for having a passenger without a seatbelt. His excuse: "I fell asleep on top of my mate's car at Steves and he drove off without realising..."

I'll  be there but... as you will see not exactly windsurfing... I've convinced a couple of mates to help me snorkle scour the river bottom to try and recover that fin I lost a couple of weeks ago... I was hoping for no wind for "mission fin recovery" but it may turn out to be a bloody dangerous exercise with all the sailor flying by... Undecided

Nice peak James Smile.

Unfortunately we missed the spike in wind @ 6 or we could have backed you up with some better numbers.

I'm inclined to agree Ado...Woodies is much better in 25K+ when all the teabaggers clear out!! Yell

Leave my kiters alone  Yell

I normally arrive at Woodies around 6:30 and have been the only person on the water a few times.

It's a bit scary around dusk, I mean the carpark not the water Surprised
