Carve 94, 6.0 KA stealth gx, 32sl.

Started off a good day with gusty 12-20 knots out the back but a bit light in near the beach. Had about 44 Nm up late arvo so decided to go for the 100 k's.

Borrowed Firies Futura 111 so I could get through the light wind in close. Once I was past that it was still blowing 15-20 out the back so got the distance up fairly quick and headed back to the beach just after the sun had gone down behind the hills.

Got to within a few hundred meters of the shark net before the wind dropped to nothing. Managed to bob around on the board for about five minutes before I lost my balance in the Yorkies chop. Time to start swimming. Spent about an hour swimming past the shark net until I reached the ropes for the stinger net and dragged my way along the ropes to the beach.

Thanks to Firie, Rowdy and everyone else that were looking for me.

I did learn something today, always borrow someone elses board if the wind is a bit doubtful and stay close to the board. That way they won't go home until they get there board back.

Must owe you a carton Firie.

Just been checking my tracks without the swim cut out. It shows an extra 2.26 Km's with the swim.

Looks like Herb and Lyn were up at Cootharaba today. Will be a big day for the team once Kel, Herb and Lyn post.

Good to see you out today Regs, it gets a bit addictive once you start chasing P.B's.

Congrats on all the PB's guys. great effort. Good to see lots of you on the water.

Hey Hoppy. Could get run over by speed boats if your swimming for too long in the dam though.

Gaz. Bet your glad the shark nets work.

Yeh, it was a good feeling to be inside the nets.

Might have to get out a bit earlier next time. Two o'clock was a bit late to start a 110 Km session.

so gaz im confused, did you end up on the worng side of the shark nets? or is that where you spend most of your time on the water?

is the shark net and stinger net the same thing?

Does it keep the crocs out too?

Did Firie get his board back or did you ditch your whole rig?

We are always on the wrong side of the shark net. The net runs parallel to the beach a few hundred meters out so most of us sail out behind it.

The stinger net is a small swimming enclosure on the beach.

Nothing keeps the crocs out!

I had to give Firie his board back. I have more fun on the carve, but I might borrow it again if the wind looks like dropping out. Embarassed
