Crashed and burned. I think I might have lost my mojo. The previous two serious sessions before this resulted in a crash which left me with deep tissue bruising of the thigh and trouble walking for two weeks, then the previous session a crash which left me with a smashed up nose and black eye and missing GPS unit. Yesterday I was a bit tentative (scared shitless of crashing) until I finally decided that enough was enough. I let out the outhaul, bore away deep in the middle of a strong gust only to hit a huge clump of weed and over the handlebars.... no physical injury but the boom is broken in 3 places and 2 sail battens are gone.

Now I really dont know how I will go next time.

Nice numbers Geoff. Winds looked pretty consistant today.

Hey Pat, yes very consistent. 20 to 24 k, no gusts. I probably got off the water a little too early. Whilst the conditions were excellent, they got even better as the tide went out. Straight off the front of the rigging area the water was like glass as I drove away, even with the wind still arounf 20.

I thought Frant might post. I got a message that he was going out, only after I got home.

Glad there were no injuries Frant. The boom and battens can be replaced. I am sure you will be back to your normal speedy self in no time!

Hey Steve, those numbers have helped out heaps. As have yours Frant. between you and Pat, you may be able to cobble together a boom from all the bits. Cheers Geoff
