Couldnt get a leave pass for low tide this arvo at Port Sorell so got up early and went to Stanley to try a NM at high tide, forecast 25 kts actually 12-15 until I was about to leave. Anyway beats laying in bed.

Ok sail on the sandbar. Light early on and then the wind came in for a bit from the NW. As the water was almost at low tide the wind turned SW and became extremely gusty. I stayed out for a little while longer but it wasn't long until i'd had enough.

not a great sail, felt flat all day and found it hard to get good numbers.

Tough day.  Sailed with Steve on the Derwent.  No wind as we rigged up (literally, calm), but just as we were ready to go the wind puffed in.  Very squally, which turned out to be good early for runs in relatively flat water at the front edge of squalls, but terrible for doing a 1 hr.  Wind kept swinging and gusting from mirror calm to howling (solid 25 knots).  Sea was extremely confused at times with horrible chop, especially later in the session.

Very pleased with the new Severne CodeRed 7.5 and C3 Venom 46 on the 2009 iSonic 122.  Was stoked to see 34.67 on the GPS after one run in the middle of the Derwent.  Felt a bit like Formula sailing in 20 knots at times!!

Very lucky to get back in to where we left from as the wind was dead off-shore and swinging constantly by the time we were ready to come in.  Will post tracks on GE.

Good to see a few others out today.  Sounds like you didn't get the wind that was expected up there, or it went SW too early.

Gusty sw at Port Sorell with Izaak, Perk and Jordan. Very frustrating!

Everything that Dave said. Gear used: Isonic 08 122, Select SL 45 and the Select SL 39, SSR 6.6.

Wind was NW to start with and then swung SW before slowly swinging back to the NW with lots of lulls.  Nice long run in behind South Arm, but again gusty and the chop before you get in the sheltered area was atrocious.  Did I mention it was pouring with rain which felt like hail ....

Well done Dave and Steve on the distance. Hey Steve are you training for 300 Kms? I don't want to have to do another distance run for a while.
