40.23 on the dial is enough for me!...peak speeds are nice but the real story is in the 5x10's as far as i'm concerned  and there wasnt a pb there for me today..

Snides I saw you riding on the last 10cm of your board, looked bloody fast, and yeh I would take the 40 on the dial anyday, that's the buzz seeing the big 40 on your display!!!  May never happen for some, so when it does, soak it up!!!!

I would have killed for the stinking ooze, the so f#*king hypersaline water [that it makes you puke if you ingest it], the long walk to the water, the gustiness, the rain etc etc.

cheers guys...the water in preston is unbelievably salty...i did a bail out and swallowed a bit of it and it took me a couple of minutes of coughing and sluttering and eye rubbing to get going again. when i hit the beach i doubled over and had a small chuck

ado's eyes where a shocking red!!! this aspect of yo yo's was definetly the hardest thing to contend with for me anyway!

i havent got my cable for the camera here so i will try and post from work in the morning...a pic of crashers R&D testing for maui sails booms and a short long distance vid of ado stacking it at the end of his 40 run (apologies in advance for the laugh Ado!)

Awesome speeds by all of you. I think this is the first session I've seen when Slowie wasn't the fastest so bigger congrats to Ado, recycle and Snides!

Just as an adjunct, is there a theory that the high salinity of cheesegraters water contributes to better flotation and therefore higher speeds??? And also, if you think that's muddy crappy water come sail in Narrabeen Lagoon one day

Congrats to all you guys on the PB fest! Although i think anyone with a 4.4-5.0 would have been hitting 45's if theyd sailed the squall at creery XD.

As my speeds wont count and it takes 15min to start the comp with realspeed >< ill post later.. probably after a sess tomorrow or on sat. For all those wondering where the F*(& creery is heres a lil GE image. Run shown was in about 30kts wind, NW-NNW. Peak of 39, avg 36. line shows fast section of run. Whats nice about sailin here is that the shallowish water keeps te chop down enough to allow reasonable bear-aways, whichwas nessacary with the square angle today.

For sam: we really should have tried your  run in the middle. had a look on GE and its much better than i previously thought. AND ON STARBOARD!!!!! might have been a little underwater today though. you should give it a shot if you get out tomorrow as the depth should still be pretty good.... not often that the water would be high enough to sail in there. plus you could check out that other run at the same time :D  

I'm glad some of the other SRMers made the effort to do the drive down there! Good onya lads for boosting the SRM pointage. I gave it a miss for the reasons elmo suggested- and I would have had to have negotiated those traffic hazards identified by the "MH" numberplates. But it seems like it was the place to go today for speed action. The wind angle at cheesgraters needs to be spot on since the bank is so straight. So I figured it would be a short and violent mission down there, with all the fun sludge to deal with. Bugger that. Unfortunately the wind backed off heaps back here on the swan river after the front came through- otherwise Point Walter would have been going off for speed. Direction was spot on for a few hours. Maybe tomorrow... still plenty of wind forecast.

I can't blieve you just shruged it of Chris, that was a fair sized hit, didn't displace as much water as Crasher but still very impressive

It wasn't so bad - I had already unhooked coz I knew it was coming after spinning out. It's the sudden ones that get you when you are still hooked in that do the damage - like Crasher's. I saw the big man go down in vivid detail right before my eyes and it was hideous!

OMG, what a crash, and healthy reaction in  the background . I haven't crashed at speed for a long time (thank you God), but last time it was pretty funny, with rolling on the water for some 10-15 meters, nice soft crash, not like this one :D...
