CA50SP. NP6.2race, 27cm SL7.

First sail for a month and a half, felt like a total beginner. Should have brought a wetty, bloody cold after Darwin.

Only had 90 mins on the water-had to get back to work .6.2rsr CA47 24 Maui ultra.Unsuitable tide /strong wind/rough very shallow water -couple of suicide runs over reef flats looking for smooth water but didnt find any !!

Wore my new Gath Helmet-thankfully-copped a mast in the skull at about 32 knots -may have been ugly without it .

Afternoon session over Eastern Run should have been awesome but boys say the wind dropped out

Back on Friday -low of .6m at midday should see the Northern Run in action for 1st time this year ...

Went to green, good to be back home. was pretty choppy today tides all wrong. tried a few differnet boards with my 5.8 but couldnt seem to get any quciker regardless of what i did. tried for a few alphas but think the angle was all wrong or something. and my nautical mile is out in the deep water so pretty happy with that. Wanted more wind and flatter water. at least the beers cold and the rum's cheap.

Slit my ankle on something, but it didn,t bother me until I had to walk on it. Now it's really giving me curry. I couldn't work out my Distance travelled, I'll Have to wait for Bob. Even with the injury, a very enjoyable day.Laughing

This is often the difference between FNQ beaches and Green Island.     This effort took 90 minutes with 6.6 and 105l Screamer.

Congrats to the other FNQMob who had a ball at GI.    We had a glorius sunny day and the pleasure of seeing HoppyBob get on his board again.

Herby (12064km):

I sat on Kurrimine Beach watching Hoppy learning to bend his knee again and Lyn and Rossco just wobbling up and down and suddenly Lyn got into sub planing mode so I grabbed the 6.5m that I had rigged and the Fatboy and rushed out.     Never got on plane so just wobbled for 70 mins.

Next morning just sat around all morning in steady rain till finally calling it quits and coming back up the mountain.

Who said..."Well that's life"???

What a fantastic effort the others made at Green.    Congrats on all the PBs.

Great to see all those PB's guys, looks as though you had some wind to play in. Fantastic results all round.

Gaz, good to hear you still find it cool over here.My wettie's getting a workout even though the bloody thing shrinks each year.

Sailed with Lyn, Herb and Hoppy today at Kurri but no wind to cause any havok and I had a senior moment and only took my GPS batteries to the beach so no post. Good to see HoppyBob back on the water after his knee replacement.

Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks for the comment, BOGdog. I may have kicked it, but I kept it very blunt around the tip and I don't think it really matters what material a fin is made from, if it's sharp it cuts. The weed fin hanging out the back is a target and  even though it had a chord 60 mm  and 300m depth was great through the chop. I never felt anything from the cut which probably should have been stitched until I saw it bleeding at lunchtime. Still sailed the afternoon with it without a problem until I tried to walk on it.

I don't know how I cut it as I had some major crashes at 30+ knots a couple of times.Laughing

Good to see you back on the water Hoppy.

Good thing about the team challenge is everyone contributes, even if your not the fastest on the day. Great to see so many out on the one day.

Water starts are going to be Ok but uphauling sux.

Well done to all PBers too numerous to mention, a bit embarrassed putting those small numbers in with you lotEmbarassed

You'll be right Firie....those bludgers will be worn out for the GPS challenge week and you will be fresh and unstopable....unless you hit the reefWinkCool
