It had been looking like it was going to be a good sail from the start of the week, and in the end the wind gods delivered. Started off a bit average as i was underfinned and underpowered, so went in and changed fins and then went back out. It seemed even lighter than before but luckily after 10 or so mins of dodging around the wind finally did what it was supposed to do. Nice to back out there with some consistent wind after 3 weeks with out a sail. Hopefully it happens again soon!!Smile

Nice frolic in the mud with johno until the fun police turned up and ruined what could have been a fantastic venue. Way overpowered on a 6.6, should have gone in and changed but i'm far too lazy.

Well done guys for bumping up the distance.

Arrived in Cairns this afternoon, a little bit chilly, but I'm sure we'll get used to it!!  About to catch up for a bite to eat with Bear and then over to Green Island in the morning.  Not a lot of wind forecast, but hopefully enough to get out for a sail.  Thanks to Cam for picking my partner and I up from the airport, really nice start to what I'm sure is going to be a great week.  Also managed to get two boards, three sails, two booms, two masts and all my other bits and pieces here at no cost with Virgin (allowance for two bags of sporting equipment with normal luggage is 58 kg for two people and it all came in at 57)!!  I hear Slowie was out at Green Island today, wind was around 20 knots (Green Island Observations), so hope he got a good sail in.

Well done fellas Jason and I went out at moulting lagoon today had a fully powered up sail but I havent got realspeed down here so I will have to post later. Little bit of drama today when Parks and Wildlife met us when we got out and said we cant sail there reason being we might upset the birdlife. I said maybe we should have sailed here a month ago during duck season and really upset the birdlife. He told us if we were in a dinghy (with outboard) that would be ok, any sort of kayak, canoe, rubber boat but not a windsurfer.

Whats the world coming to bloody dogooders. I asked him where was he two weekends ago when the hoons were in our rigging spot doing circle work turning the grass into a ploughed paddock under 3 inches of water.Frown I also asked where are the signs and he said we could read all about it on the parks website re moulting lagoon management plan

That feels better got that off my chest

I had a great sail on my new IS76 with venom 32 ka 5.8 and coming from a big board background this is the smallest board i have ever sailed and it feels sweet cracked the first 1/2 dozen gybes ok and then the arms packed up from old age lack of fitness should have a reasonable nm I hope will post Sun Night.

it's weird how there allowed to be able to shoot ducks....but windsurfers are not alloud, plus were probably the one of the most evironmentially friendly.

we need to get 'today tonight' involved,or daveLaughing

but sounds like you had a good sail.

Bummer about Moulting Bay, thats the last thing you need. Good luck Dave and the Bear at Green Island, hopefully you will get some good wind there. Its now been 5 weeks here to the day we have not had any wind.
