Looked as bad as it was, picked wrong gear, Formula and paid the price. Should have followed Chris advise, waited a few hours til it came in. Was too buggered by the time the breeze strengthened to re rig with other kit. Rest of crew out, just in time to get some benefit. Looking at wind graphs, Mandurah would have been the pick today. Hope Nebbian does OK down there.

Interesting day on the swan. Got out about 9.15 and sailed for about an hour before the wind died.

Went back out with Bogdog and spent most of the hour chasing around which was fun.

Actually quite warm with a bit of sunshine.

Annika and Bogdog getting some serious racing training in.

Got three reasonable hours in and an iffy one.

Finally gave up when the light patches got too long.

Good turn out James D, Chris, Mineral, Pointman and Hardpole.

Nebbs sounds like he had a good session in crabland.

Went exploring:

Highlight of the day was slogging back to the launch spot when the wind died, and a dolphin decided to start playing some games with me... nudging the board, surfacing right in front of me (with the tail still under the board), doing laps around me, generally having fun Laughing

We truly do live in a wonderful world Cool

Melville late afternoon until dark on NP RSS III 7.8 JP Slalom V 112 Goldwing 40. Spent the session trying to work out best downhaul setting for the sail and eventually the sail & board seemed to come together well for the first time. At the end had a bit of fun doing some figure-of-eight laps around a couple of buoys with the last couple of guys on the water - not sure who. Was hoping for a few big gusts at the end for a speedy downwind return to base but it just poured instead!

Melville. Started out crappy, but improved toward the end. Great fun. Good to catch up with team mates and opposition alike.

Bobbed around for a what seemed like a long time waiting for the wind, at least a few good gusts eventually came in.

Nice to see so many others out.

Nar was just buggered, was fun while it was runing OK but wore out way too fast, think that week of the flu has takern its toll plus no water time I should have gone same as you.  130 with the loft 7.4 but was tin fruited by then to re rig Laughing

Thanks guys, I really felt blessed having the dolphin pay me a visit Laughing

Evets, that gybe was in the middle of a squall, my next highest alpha was 20.9... it felt really really sweet though, plenty of time to flip the sail and get myself sorted out on the new tack.  Afterwards I was sure that it was a good 'un, looking at the data my max speed on the whole 500m was 25.4 knots... so really the secret to upping your numbers has to be having a higher entry speed.  Quite happy with that alpha, anything over 22 for me is a real achievement.

Lao, I'm sorry I couldn't match your k's but the wind just switched off!  Next time gadget, next time.

Great effort on the distance there Lao and Nebs.

I stood around at Melville for about an hour and a half waiting to see if it was gonna fill in.  In the end I piked Embarassed

It was too inconsistent and I just couldn't get enthused.
