Windy when I went out and windy now as I post, but gusty, choppy and horrible when out sailing!!  Worked my way upwind ready to do a down-wind run and then spent about an hour drifting all the way back with water up to my knees.  Sailed 2009 Isonic 86, 2010 CR 6.5 and Venom 30cm.

blowing big time when we were rigging up, 33 knots.maybe more.got out there and had one ok run then slowly started to die and went crap.pitty the wind at the start stayed in because i would of be powered up.tryed my new fin and it felt really good ! but could not get it ripping due to my top speed,ah well next weekend !

had two runs, then sailing back up on the second under 20 knots speed hit a little spit of sand poking out off the bar and went over the front again and snapped the boom in half ! now it is my third one,for this year, getting a bit sick of it.i still think it must be me.

the 09 5.2 felt absolutly great ! cant wait to get a good day,of wind.sick of gusty winter.

Average sail on the bar today. Didnt get out much later than the others but late enough to miss all the wind.

Very frustrating - First run with good wind managed a 35.8. First time with a new (secondhand) sail. Sheeted out and unhooked, but felt like it was going to be on - then nothing. The last three times we have been out we have hung around with no wind untill we are hypothermic and then got out only to have the wind come in.

missile small, SO7 27cm, RS slalom 5.8

Sailed at moulting lagoon and had another run in with the parks ranger looks like thats the last sail I will have there Stewart and Bear were out with me as well.  Looks like I will look forward to getting something in the mail from them, the others got a verbal warning.

How ludicrous(is that how you spell it) that you could go there in a boat with an outboard but not on a windsurferYell

Conditions were horrible the same as WA a couple of days ago and similar to everywhere else in Tassie, one minute the water was smoking then standing in the mud waiting for wind

Nice to get back on the water for ,I don't know how long. Sailed at Johno's Swamp for what appears to be the first and last time as the local ranger had nothing better to do than to harass three old blokes enjoying them selves. Apparently we were endangering the swan population of which none were out where we were sailing. Some Idiot behind a desk has drawn up the rules for the area and singled out jet skis and windsurfers as the main danger to the wildlife. Kite surfers are ok as the rules stand. I'm sure you could catch several swans in a 12 m kite without too much trouble.  Apart from that I had a great sail, reasonably flat water and reasonably consistent wind.

Hey Johno are they going to put you in jail. You Bad Bad Man. There's still hope, Shrek got his swamp back in the end.

Is 125 7.5 Loft Blade crap fin.

What brands and type of booms have you broken Anthony?

north sails silver and gold booms, but i will say that i think alot of it's me on how i go over the front.i'm sure i let the boom go and become one dead weight.my only point of contact is the harness lines.

Bad luck Perks, but good to hear you like the 5.2 and that it wasn't damaged.  Nice speed, even if it was from only two runs.  Great you got to try your new fin out Izaak, 33.7 is still absolutely honking, well done!!

Yes Izaak june and july you can shoot ducks there but get on a windsurfer you could be in big trouble.

I fogot to mention I bought one of those Hotsuit rash vests with the little battery pack and it was quite toasty out there not one bit cold. I did the old take an esky full of hot water with me for when i iced up but didnt need it so i killed off a few weeds instead.I put one of those 10 l water containers in the esky and threw my towel in with it thanks to the hint on seebreeze forum. I must be getting soft but geez the towel was nice. I used the IS 76 to start with and changed up to the S type 126 5.8 Koncept for my best speed

Why are windsurfers not allowed to sail in a national park? It sounds bloody stupid. As long as you are allowed to drive into the park and to the launch site does it matter if you are canoing, stink boating or sailing? Why not contact your local MP and ask for this to be looked at? Thats what they are there for.
