Botany 15-20knots.
A quick sail from 12.30 to 1.30pm before I had to pull stumps for a work meeting. Left just before the wind really kicked in. Fun playing round doing a couple of runs in behind that snake in the middle of the bay. Wicked fun!
Started to rig my 11mt Severne before the bottom panel exploded when down hauling. Rigged three time, so something really wrong there.(more about this later) Forced to sail with the NP 9.8 which was a blessing in disguise. What an unreal sail it is. Had a blast! I love Formula

5530 days ago 1 categories Did the selfless family thing and took my kids to Narrabeen for a sail. What ever happened to the good old days???? It took me a grand total of 1 glorious minute to rig my sons sail. No battens....un furl the sail...downhaul and mast foot stay on permanently, just have to clip on the boom then outhaul and voila! I then spend the next 20 minutes getting myself sorted with cambers and mega downhaul and adjusting harness lines blah blah blah
Anyway, it was typical gusty Narrabeen, 0-18 knots with a bit of chop. Probably should have had a slightly bigger fin, used a JP Slalom32 but should have used my 34 to get upwind better. Also considering I was using a 6.7 NP RS a 34 really should have been the go. Board was my falcon 90. Had a beautiful catapult at one stage that bent my hand in a direction it shouldn't go and consequently sent pins and needles up and down my arm afterwards. Fearing I'd done something major I then realised my elbow was bloody sore and putting 2 and 2 together realised I'd smashed my funny bone hence the pins and needles. Half an hour later the pins and needles had gone but my bent hand still killed. Think I also rebroke a toe that I'd done 2 years ago so i have a nice limp now too!
All in all I'm not too unhappy with my peak considering the conditions. That session with the family should last the family till next summer so I can get back to Botany and get some slightly longer runs than 250m before you have to gybe!!

5530 days ago Fun session at Brighton, Botany. Lots of guys out.
Rigged the 7.0 just as it started building to 20-25 knts with a few coming in to change down - so rigged the 5.8 Gunn
On the big & trusty ? RRD with a 44 Maui fin which tended to do a bit of slip sliding away!!
Lots of bounce & a few unintentional jumps - but seemed to land 'em no worries.
Need to work on arm fitness - all good fun
Hey - nuthin' like getting in early....puts us 2nd on leader board...don't think that will last long

Nice fun sail with Sean. Lots of guys out. Boardies for the first time this year too
More days like these please!
PS Thanks Sean for helping me work out how to setup an adjustable outhall system and also, for prising my mast extension out of my mast

JP Slalom Pro V 112 Neil Pryde RS Racing 7.8 Tectonics Talon 40.
Bit too much gear to go fast, nice and flat at the top of the runway.
Beautiful board. Perfect slalom kit.

5529 days ago Good fun but gusty sea breeze on Lake Dangerous. Lots of people out sailing, good to see. Nice on the water.
Must of been the day to hurt yourself yesterday.
Got a decent cut on my heel from a barnacle encrusted rock. Good to see Andrew getting brownie points with the family
The water level is very low so if the wind had of co-operated early on the super short end of the sand bank mightve worked.
a few Cockies out later on too.
Falcon 111, 6.7 RSR Evo I, JP 36cm.
