Intersting Day ... Began with an X9 moment-had just finished rigging the 7.8 Evo 2 which arrived FRI in the SHADE when a loud bang ended the session before it began -thankfully it happened on the grass so rapid derigging prevented the jagged hole in the luff sleeve that happened previously under similar circumstances...

Wind was SE at 10-18 knots so the only option remaining was to rig the 7.0 evo 2 on the x9 430 .The mast survived the rigging process & I had a blast out around double island with the turtles & progressively shallower reef .

Naish sp110 09 /venom 40 10/Rs racing 7.0 evo 2 10

Great combination -felt comfortable & controlled -the 7.8 would have been perfect with the prevailing conditions...

Nice to get a post again

At last some wind on Tinaroo.....6.6m Loft 02 and HoppyBobs 129l Screamer.

Just pleased to get on water again.

Lyn and I both on water for about 2 hrs on Tinaroo.....Both of us used 6.6m Loft 02s...my board was S/Cross 120l.

Been a while since we had more than a zephyr of wind and I felt like one of Firies Gumby Group, but it was all worth it.

On the spot weather station gave max gusts at about 20 knots

went to melville because there were no waves. went and did some freestyle while waiting for chris to show uo with a board for me. after 6 years of trying I finally sailed away from a spock. so was pretty happy.  got hold of chris's ca 53 and sailed up to pt walter for a few runs  had a couple of good ones but wasnt really comfortable got a pb in the 2 sec so pretty happy at the end of the day but wanted to go faster. was on 6.4 nd 26cm c3 venom. its weird when i try for alphas fully planing out of gybes i get under 20 when i dont i go faster. arhCool

First up big congrats to Troppo with his PB, one of the faster guys today which is a great effort seeing he doesn't jump on speed slalom gear very often, FNQM were lucky there were no waves today Cool

A great day today at Melville except for when I was chasing Chris L yelling smart arse comments at him before realising I had followed him into no man's land, I then bared away below him looking for deeper water and more speed which was a terrific idea until I hit a big patch of weed at full tilt, the board stopped dead and I took off like a rocket. No damage but my arms are now 4' longer. After that, every speed run my a/hole was gasping more air than my yapper.

Happy with my 5x10 and to get another 35 max at Melville Smile Awesome to see Chris L get a 40 on the dial in the same conditions Cool

I'm on someone elses Laptop but will play with it back home, I have other GoPro vids that will play here Undecided I turned it off before stopping recording, don't know if that makes a diff ? Troppo had his on and I believe it's ok.

Just did a quick test on mine Bob, ie turning off whilst videoing. Unfortunately no file was created!!!! Bugger.

On a positive note Gopro have just released antifog inserts for the HD. Waiting for mine to arrive....

Probably no windsurfing for me any more, hip bone totally removed so I don't think I will be able to sail with my leg like that....I'm Keen enough, you never know.   Herby...... 1k and your total distance is 6000k pretty good for a LEGEND.
