Falcon speed, redline 5.6, 26ex. Bit underpowered, but a good solid session anyway

Estuary on SL58 then SL62 with Maui TR3 5.9, C3 Venom 34.

Onto SP6 55cm speed board later, with Mykz 250@25 fin, TR3 5.9......real nice combo.

Water getting faster and faster as the tide dropped but getting a bit dangerous also with the plague getting worse as the water got

shallower.

Had one of them do a jump right in front as I whizzed past at 35+ and you (and they) have no idea where they are going to end

up.

Would have liked to sail on as the speeds were going up easily, but too dodgy with the kites around.

Nice session and one of the rare (for this year) proper easterly days.

More of that please hughie !

GT11

Lake Ellesmere and then Estuary.

CA SL58, C3 Venom 34, Maui TR5 5.9

Went to Ellesmere to try for hour and distance with Mike but way too rough, not possible to get much speed so binned it and back to

Estuary.

Bloody stoked with this session. Great way to spend your 51st birthday. Good solid 25knot easterly on the estuary with the team on a Wednesday afternoon.

SL58 and 7.0 Overdrive, 30 Vector Rockit for first 45mins. Only went up wind for one mile run and finally cracked the 30knots.Surprised  Saw Mike flying on the flat water downwind so changed to CA SP 50 with same sail and a 26cm C3 Venom.

Been looking forward to trying this combo all season ie big sail, small fin on the speed board. The 26 C3 Venom was frigging awesome even in the chop. I couldn't believe it. Moved the mastfoot forward and boom height up and the board was a pleasure to sail.

I should have sailed the SP50 for the whole session as I think I've found the sweet spot(at last) and the chop is not a issue anymore

Huge distance Terry

Great session for you Neil.....smoking mile for the estuary and the 5x10 not too bad either.

Nice to see you're getting the speed gear sorted, feels pretty nice when you get the chop dialed in doesn't it?

Can you show us where you did the mile....google earth?

Was it on the 58 or SP50?

Happy Birthday !

Just sent you my track file Mike. Mile was on the 58. So the 30 Rockit is pretty quick off the wind but it was a bit of a grind getting up wind

Hey team,

A note for the future.......

Neils's mile track was 200 metres lower than Mike at the start and finished 500 metrees lower, well down in the estuary by comparison to Mike and Terry.

Next thing we have to do to improve the team's score is get up to the lake and get some 40+

Hey Neil,

I'm off to Nelson for 10 days and Terry is doing the work thing so you'll have to get one of the other guys up there to back your runs up.

I'm taking the speed gear with me and will check out pakawau in Golden Bay if we get SW and the spit if NW.

Good luck at the lake, you're ready..... I can feel 40+ coming on!

Don't forget if its gusty and feels gutless, bag the rig way out, way more than you think possible and it'll go!

Last night I didn't have the clew connected, the boom was the only restraint, worked great.
