5399 days ago What a day at vici point , wind was honking but the bank was to tight and i mean toooo tight so all my runs had to bear of into the hectic chop nearly had some serious crashes but i had to push it a bit further to get my 10sec in ....
Along the course was a bit gusty but when full on i hit 2 good runs of 39.9 on a dead tight course im really happy with that ....

5399 days ago 2 categories Very stronge wind some gust well over 30kts over powered with the 5.6 at times Had trouble stay in contact with the water. Sailed down mud flats at Victoria Point with Pierre we where sailing close to the bank but the ripples where about 20 to 50cm deep making it challenging. Ended pulling one foot sprap out of the board so I had to come in to fix it turned out it had unscrewed it self some how.
Good practice on the speed board ready for Burrum.

5399 days ago VP, gusting 5to 35knts, Skate 90l, Daytona 5.4 and 30cm fin. I soon realised, that I should have put on the 4,7 wave sail and had some fun instead of this scary stuff. The ripples were well over one foot, so you could not really call it flat water at the speed bank. I had one good run, when the wind went over thirty knots and I managed to hold on to the sail and keep the board on the water after that I went home to clean the brown stuff out of my pants. Tomorrow I'll put up the 4.7 for sure and may be get some gybes. Pity I can't get to Burrum like others

5399 days ago 1 categories Burrum heads- the real report.
Went out chop coming straight down river and breaking 1 foot plus on the bank. Wind- honkin, had board and rig ripped from hands a few times I've never tried speedsailing in that much wind. Pierre add 10-15 knots on what you and I last sailed in wello so 20-30... ah no (brad did 1 run on 7m and changed to 5.9, dunno what Ian was on but had a good crash, ken bottled on the 5.1 and also had a good crash). The wind did moderate and swing more southerly later but i'd had enough arms were gone. I didnt get a 5th run down the bank unfortunately, should have rigged smaller and then would have lasted longer and sailed more- wrong sail, wrong fin but it's all experience.
F2 Missile, RS racing 6.7, 24 chopped fin.

5399 days ago Wello, worst sail in a long time. My smallest sail is a 5.0 I had trouble even carrying the rig to the water (first sign it wasn't going to be a happy sail), then it was so windy it kept getting ripped out my hands (second sign), then the wind dropped a little and I had a few overpowered runs. Just settled in and catapulted out the back and lost another bloody contact lens (all over red rover). Made it back in, packed up (found I'd left my glasses at home and had to drive back to the Gold Coast with one eye) and sulked all the way home. Mental note: leave the old 3.5 Combat Wave in the van - would've come in handy.
I can't wait to see the guys posts from Burrum. I'm sorry I couldn't make the trip this weekend.

5398 days ago Just got back from Burrum Heads trip, went out with 7m to start then 35knt squall came through with wind at good angle but tide was still running out with 1 foot swells rolling down the bank. Managed to do one out of control run on the 7m back in & ran up to grab the 5.9m. By the time i got back out the water was starting to flatten out nicely but the wind had eased & swung further south making the course tight.
Stoked with the NM Pb if i had known i was that close to the record i probably would have had a few more goes at it.
