Maybe we have to change our team name Chris? Any suggestions? We can call it JP/NP Mobs Netherlands. If we do it like this we can invite more people like Gerlof Hansma & Adriaan van Rijsselberghe for example. Gerlof did only 45,9 knots topspeed but he is doing huge distances, hours and alpha's every session anyway. Last year he did 14606 kilometers. This can be a usefull person for our team.

Nice to see how motivated everybody is on this website and what this challenge is doing with us and all the other dutch people.

I send Ben already an email to change the name to JP/NP Mob Netherlands. Then we feel more at home here, haha.

We have already the smallest team on this website with only 5 persons, so by adding a few persons this will be more in balance with the other teams aswell. And after a while we all need a break and with more members we don't have to do all the stuff everytime with 2 or 3 persons. And SRM was unbeatable for 3 years in a row, i think that's also boring.

Most years its come down to one month of points and some dedication to compete on level turf with other teams by flying to the other side of the country. We dont win every month.

Also our teams are reasonably spread out as far as skill goes. eg we dont have teams of 5 with the 3 best internationally ranked national competitors (all in the top 10 overall in the world ) + one more who is always in the top 10 overall in GP3S, from a country with maybe 10 times the active speed sailors of Australia. Wouldnt it be more fun to have your 5 team members all in different teams so you can actually compete against each other and encourage a few other sailors to step up? Just an idea We found this works quite well here and doesnt get too boring.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your team name Jacques, I'm just jealous.

We just have to go faster now if we want to win - that's why it's a "Challenge", and that's great!

Craig and Stringer, don't worry about your NM, just come one day down to hardies on the right day and you ll blow it away, don't need to go in the run to get a 30 over there, you can do this on the outside

A couple of years ago as a mug I had the pleasure of sailing with the likes of Agera, Beale, Slate, McGain and many others in the Mauii Slalom series and at Sprek's in the open ocean and "speed" track. This gave me direct feed back of how good you can be and it was inspiring if not a little humbling.

There's a few heavy hitters amongst the UK teams also. Once they defrost, watch out for some great results from there also.

My first challenge is myself, second, line up your team mates who are going faster, and third if your combined result register somewhere in GPSTC then great.

Mister Lockwood! Last 2 months we set our results in south of France, you know how far away that is from our local spots. So you can say we did a lot of effort and bought the results these 2 months.... And for such a small country we already have 7 Teams! You know also that we are not the only strong Team in Netherlands, check who is sailing in Wad1Team, Speed Team Makkum and Dutch Fun Speeders for example. 

JP/NP Team doesn't include Dutch Champion Speed Peter de Wit, Record Holder 500 meter Dirk Doppenberg, Fastest Run on Karpathos 2009 Dirk Jan Knol, Dutch Champion Slalom and Formula Dennis Littel and PWA sailor Peter Volwater. These guys are in the other Dutch Teams. And than i'm not even mention all the other fast riders who are competing aswell, to many to mention.

Probably the rest of this season we will compete all on the same spots (Brace) and this will be a challenge for sure and no Team will really stand out from the rest, we all have to work hard for it. Its to early to judge, we were just very lucky last 2 months.

SRM will probably smoke everybody again the next 9 months, i just realize by reading the comments how motivated and dedicated everybody in your Team is to do well in all categories every month. We will also loose Ben van der Steen the rest of the season as he is doing PWA. Martin is only doing 2sec and 5x10 sec, so it all come down to me Hans and Barry.

And what us really motivated to make at least a few competitive teams was the posting from Joseph Presti 25 december 2009 on GPS3;

It doesn't make sense to split our Teams even further and to let you guys win again, we are not stupid, but nice try;-)

The other Dutch Teams are so strong that they can affort it to use the first 3 months as a discard;-)

 We had No Strong Winds for 3 years.

Guess we have to start flying to Sandy Point for the Level Turf!

I think Slowy was taking the piss to be honest, as one could easily level the same criticism against SRM (That they have cornered the talent in WA)

Jacques, I know how far that is... Its a great effort and over here we are just jealous that you have some wind at your doorstep (relatively) . I drove the back roads once and ran out of fuel in the early hours unable to find an open gas station. Spent a cold few hours before sunrise in the back of the van waiting for one to open. But its a windy and flat spot down there so lucky you can drive.

I think its going to be a fun year!!! As long as we all get some wind to play.

If you do end up getting bored, you can always split the team in half at a later date. (Although that seems unlikely)
