not a very good top speed for me today but the conditions were not great with total square wind. did get to test some fins so was a productive day , now of to france for a little warmer water and wind !!! Finally the booty's can come off.

Surprise!!!! This is not a joke ;)
Super nice session in the beginning a bit cold with hail and later on we luckely got a nice sunny day. After a nice speedsession of 124km we got the idea to do a hour don't know why we wanted to do this but we just did it and it was fun didnt expect that because i was allready a bit soar in the hand because of sailing in the cold.
The caspar 29 was really nice in this combination put the base plate 3mm in front of the square the control was very good .
Nice to beat the guys on average after their amazing topspeeds of yesterday . I'm stoked!!!!!!!

After the freak accident this morning I didn't feel like sailing but when we arrived at the water I couldn't stand staying on the shore. I wrapped up my head and put on a cap and hoped all would be fine. It was good to get a first impression about this new spot. Wind was coming in from the west and the waves curved aropund the course. I sailerd down just until the curve in the course. The course is probably World Record worthy at SW direction and it allows you to sail croos wind for over a kilometer and then just bear off into the long curve. You can sail close to the shore and I expect it to be dead flat. The perfect thing about this spot is the fact that you can sail in lots of wind directions.

Mattias was feeling more at ease today on his new gear. I lent him my 21 proto fin which felt a lot better for him. I took a very small 19 fin and was very surprised it worked in the moderate conditions we had. I think we had gusts up till 25 knots behinde the bank and we were sailing underpowered on the 5.5.

I would advice any serious Dutch Speedsailor to come over when thhere are record breaking conditions from the SW and the tide is low enough. It would really suprise me if any other spot will ge closely as good as this one with wind from the South West.

Good first day of the month for distance, alpha racing, 1hour, topspeed and average.
I was not able to go faster than Hans today with my 7,0, he was in total control. I hope Martin is doing well!

Now i'm totally broken.

I just see that i'm leading the individual ranking here within 2 months. This was my goal for the whole year.

Still many room for improvement!

All numbers for Jaques' track verified OK.

With his permission, I'm posting up his amazing alpha:

This shows similar characteristics to all the other good alphas I've seen, which are:

  • Pretty much parallel lines going in and out of the alpha
  • High entry speed (35 knots in this case, all the way up the bank until the start of the turn)
  • Very close to the 50m proximity at the end
  • Gybe is as close to 50 metres diameter as is reasonable
Amazing numbers there guys, I'm very impressed!

Nebs, also confirms my theory about the turn, it isn't an even curve, forming a perfect "u". the turn tightens up as speed drops, more like keeping a constant "g".
