came down late, didn't really intend on a big session but went for 1 hr as finally had some what consistent wind, then went for distance to back up vando's effort. u have a load of persistence mate.

A rest or two could have helped immensely during the 3 hr session.

is110, 7.6 tr-5, 44 venom

This sail feels just incredible and the combo is absolutely perfect, so much power.Laughing

iS101, 7.5 Koncept(08), 40cm Venom - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SE to E 10 -18knots

Thought there was enough for the 7.5 Koncept but first 1 hour was a slogfest interspersed with some very underpowered planing runs  Never really fully powered although wind swung really east towards the end and got some okay runs until it dropped right out at end and spent half an hour slogging back home from southern end of beach.

Still quite stiff from my Saturday night antics too.Wink

Wello, Falcon 111, Nash Stealth 7.6 and Meanline fin 39cm. My mast broke, when I was rigging up, so I thought I would not be sailing at all today, but Ron lent me Nathan's mast ( He is in Japan and does not need it) and I got an hour in. Wind was a bit on and off, when I was out there, but good, when I was rigging up and derigging. I was more on than off the plane though and should be happy as I did not expect any wind till the westerlies started. Congratulations Richard!!Smile

Massive effort Vando and Richard on the distance (gee pierre, bit slack with only 105k's ;-).  Hell, I'm sore after 60 slow kilometres - hate to think what 197 would feel like.

Had a good sail from Yeppoon early this arvo. Powered up on my 7.1 and good sea conditions. Easy to pick a nice line through the swell.

Wish I had some speeds to post. Fingers crossed next weekned comes good when i have a GPS.

sausage i can't speak for vando's 197 but once u get past 80 kms it kinda isn't that hard just keep sailing long runs. but motivation is an issue some redbull and a sandwich and a wetsuit top could have kept me going personally had we the light to continue

Excellent turnout for MBM on the public holiday - great to see you guys got 'some' wind.

Pierre,

only joking - 105km is very impressive and a 23+kn hour is excellent. Apart from one 155km session at Burrum last year, my next best is only 80kms (wife doesn't let me sail for any length of time Wink).

Phil,

I'm only a marathon behind your total distance.  Sorry to hear you had a crap sail too.

Sausage, I think you got shafted by that squall coming over Keppel. I came in about 3.00 pm after a great sail and saw you out there sloging. I couldn't figure out what you were doing cause I had good wind at the sailing club. You must have been a couple miles closer to the squall and getting the dud wind?? I even had some flat water behind the rocks on the headland.

Vando, 197k's!! What time did you start, 5am??  Great effort!!

Got my GPS today and green arrowns next weekendLaughing

Grumpy (ian), If you need a hand setting GT-31 up give us a bell.  Nice to have another GPS rider up here (to race of course)

I'll have to get over to the main beach more often because that's where I got a 31.5kn peak speed 2 years ago now as the rocks tend to quell the chop in close to Ross Creek / Fisherman's Beach.  Still bloody scary though coming over the back of a wave at 30+knots.

Thanks Brian, I'll go through the setup guide for GT31 on this site and if I have any problems I'll give you a ring. I look forwad to racing.
