Last minute trip to La Franqui. Mission was spot record and NM. My ex friend and buddy Hans was faster, respect for him with his new supercharged Evil II sail. I'm superstoked with my NM of just under 40 knots. I hope to improve this tomorrow as i did only 1 and a half NM today. We busted the Speedbusters again and we only have to do a decent Alpha to be back on 6 points!

Great guys, epic. Respect. Extra terrestrial.

How would my 4.6 have been? You can make me feel a bit better if you tell me it would have been too big ;)

What's Dutch for un-f*cking-believable??

Or should that be French?

How come you guys weren't racing in the Defi Wind? Were you worried that you'd be too slow?

...and Decrepit, I don't reckon their legs would have been too sore after the Nautical Miles, coz THEY DIDN'T TAKE VERY LONG AT 39 KNOTS

I think the 40-50 knots report at the Defi was not totally right, we had for sure gusts of 40 knots in La Franqui, but not much more.

La Franqui is always more windy than Gruissan with Tramontane because of the mountains, Leucate even more windy, and the biggest gust at the windreport that day for Leucate was 47 knots. So the wind in Gruissan is than always a little less. We were always in total control with a 5,5. It was for sure not so nucleair as a few weeks ago when it was not even possible to make runs with a 5,1.

Last year i was attending the Defi but there was no wind. This year i didn't register for this reason, and when i saw the good forecast for this weekend it was too late and registering was not possible anymore. But like this we had good fun aswell.

The arms and legs were no problem in the NM, it felt super easy and the run was super smooth and relaxed. Topspeed was even 81,11 km/h in the NM, it was like go with the flow.

Never realised how many great spots there are in Europe for speed sailing in comparison we've only got Sandy Point as our premiere venue, pity the local S.A speed strips have goneFrown
