Cold, wet(heavy rain), extremely gusty (walking and waiting a bit, sometimes powered for a second or two at a time), and energy sapping.
But... it was awesome fun to get on the water again. Only dropped one gybe because I stepped on the foot of the sail doing a laydown so it was pinned on the board... a bit hard to sheet out then. Fastest run was near the jetty heading back. 4th fastest peak was half way into a gybe (>35kts)- that was fun too until I outran the very small gust exiting the gybe into a 8 knot lull... hard to keep the speed up. aaaah cant wait for some more wind. I think straight SW is the worst direction for Pt walter because just upwind, the wind comes straight over a 60m high cliff with another 15m of wall to wall 3 level mansions on the top. Its definitely less gusty in a SSW or even W-WSW.
