Probably the session of the year so far - heaps of wind (much more than predicted) and many people out so it was a good social yet full-on day!

Only took a 6.2m as my smallest sail and was well cooked on that but hey you have to do these things...'man up'...and all that.

Won't be as quick as the others but I am sure I clocked some distance and had a superb time - just a bit disappointed with my top speeds but with 3ft chop running down Rutland bearing away proper broad just wasn't an option.  Still I was 'race' competitive when we had some burn-ups with each other!

First proper wind at Brog this year! Sunny and windy so all of the regulars were out.
First session was before lunch and I spent all of my time on the kit that I would use for slalom.... given similar conditions.

Kit: JP Slalom V 68, 7.2m NP RS:Slalom MK II, Tectonics Talon 38

Second session of the day. Tried some smaller kit but didn't really go much faster... only around a knot. Probably just tired through lack of sailing recently! Nice to be back on the water and see some results appearing on the club speed ladder.

Kit: JP Slalom V 60, 6.2m NP RS:Slalom MK II, Tectonics Talon 32

Spot / Conditions: Brogborough Lake (England), 15 knots but gusting about 20 knots
Tech Details: Navi GT-31 V1.3 (B1123t), GpsarPro v4.25, Doppler, Cubic Spline.

Awesome days sailing at last - spent more time trying to stop air time than gunning it but great to be on a small sail at last.  Swell too big on south arm for going really broad but had fun trying nevertheless.  PB for alpha and just sneaked a 30kt av.

Loads out at the club for a change and quite a few when we sailed over to Whitwell late on.  Totally knackered now!!!

Rutland / WNW 20-30kts / JP Slalom 89 / NP RSR 5.8 / 30cm Fireblade

Underpowered all day, need to get a bigger board. Still, warm and sunny so not all bad!

cheers norm, quite embarrasin at the mo the downstairs has laminate floor so its quicker to slide on my knees! lol actually for rutland the chop was rolling down the arm so like sea swell which i find ok, its the messy chop i cant do, either way cant remember seeing so many smiles n buzzed conversation, thougherly enjoyed watching people stack it! :)

It was choppy at Brog too but that is par for the course when it gets windy. I had one slightly scary run where the nose of my board went straight through a piece of chop whilst I was doing over 30 knots. I was expecting one hell of a catapult so I was quite surprised when I came out of the other side with hardly any speed loss. I won't be deliberately repeating that though... flying the nose feels much safer!
