Fell off a rowing machine the other day and hurt my back.   Decided not to sail today but ended up changing my mind.    No sooner went out and wind dropped out.

Kurrimine Beach....Looked pretty good so rigged 6.6m for me and 5.9m for Lyn.       Had trouble controlling 6.6m so came in and took Lyn's as she had decided not to sail.

Had a good time with smaller sail, but wind dropped and Lyn decided to have a go.     She started well so I went back out with the 6.6m but wind decided to drop.

A good day and congrats to Rossco on his PBs.

sailed at port douglas with Edd...very choppy conditions (good wind)

Eddy handled it very well and gave me a lession today.

Wind 15 to 25. Rigged usual gear Naish 120, Infinity 7.0 with MFC 34 b & j. Tide dropping and got some reasonably flat water to squirt over. Over powered at times so rigged Infinity 6.0 and dusted off the olde Saxo 270 with Techno 34 skeg. Good to get the smaller gear working again and better suited to the choppy conditions. As wind eased back finished off with the first setup. Lyn and Herb there for the week so should be a good week if the forecast holds true.

Yorkeys Knob, was going to try for distance today, but after the first run of the day i changed my mind, it was so messy i spent more time in

the air than on the water. Used the iso on the first run then changed to my combat to enjoy the air time more.

Iso 96, Kombat 96.  Vmg 6.0 and Charge 6.2.

Finally did it!!Green Island in a solid 25-30knots of wind & the usual wild chop on the Eastern Run .

Very shallow when I started -dial showed 36.9 on the 1st & tentative run 39.6 on the 2nd 39.84 on the 3rd then 40.38 on the 4th .

Stoked to finally post a 40 knot time from our home base...

CA47 rsr 6.2 Maauiultraspeed 24.

Combination worked really well today .

Was running 2 Gps units-the faster of the 2 has no data in it !!!!AHHHRRRRrrrrr

Was great to sail along side Toody who managed a fine PB-well done

Ed (4724km):

Went down to beach with Fred and Hoppy Bob, wind looked ok, rigged the usual 6.5 Severn put smaller fin in board hoping wind would build up as predicted...Went for a blast all good just enough wind for smaller fin had a few good runs and just had the edge on fast  Freddie.unreal. The wind kept building all arvo but started getting rough, everyone was having a good blast fully powered up and honking, I decided to try and clock up a few miles..Ed...

Port Douglas...

Congrats on all the PB's.

Choco - It's the gustiest place I have ever sailed, most of the gusts don't give you enough to get on the plane.

Wet season is better wind than the dry.

Hey Rossco big congrats with all the PB's mate, well done Cool

Good to see so many team members on the water, me I took the family to Cooktown for the weekend, a little 4WDing etc. Man was it blowing up there, never let up all day and night, had to stand on the beach at an angle so I didn't blow away, I think a trip to Cape Flattery is on the cards one day !

Cam and Toody have some very nice numbers coming, I'm now the 3rd fastest member and Cam will be in the top 1/2 dozen in the Qld Speed Table Tongue out Will have to wait for Cam to finish work Wink

Great TEAM effort today -congrats to all with pbs especially the guys with the bigs ks on the dial.

Wasnt easy sailing on the Island but for around 45 mins between 1.5-1.65 m of tide the Eastern Run was at its fastest ie the chop was lower & you could approach the "smooth"section near the Eastern tip with a few more knots of speed ...

Real speed showed a software peak of 40.37 which is almost identical to the 40.38 shown on the screen of the Unit with no retrievable data ... a job for the team captain...

An extra 1-2 knots is doable on this RUN with todays wind speeds but the risks are signficant ie running very small fins & sailing over precariously shallow reef .

Lets see what the Northern Run holds later in the week ....!!!

40 knots Cam....great going, I was scared doing 28 knots, be a big splash if you came off !

Ed...you must have had lights on to get those K's up, you had sore arms and legs at 3:30 PM and the water was VERY choppy, good on you!!

Great stuff Cam, and for the others achieving PBs. A well deserved first place in the comp this month (so far Tongue out). Shallow water over reef sounds terrifying though. Hope to see you and some of the FNQ crew down for speed fortnight this September. Probably need a bit more than boardies though!
