5238 days ago 2 categories well what a day had 40.7 on the dial but did not quite hold it long enough through the chop.had two great runs and others were around 35knots,it was a hard day nearly the whole sandbar was covered by tidal surges and was a tad too choppy. plenty of wind at henty river today but as i said too choppy at times.
experienced all weather today snowing on the way down big time.rain, bad hail and sun to end the last half of the session.
JP Speed 45,NP RSR EVOII 4.7,KA Assy 20cm
p.s does anyone want me to send my tracks to see if i can get a 40 though a different program to realspeed.
dads new navara getting dialed in.

5238 days ago 2 categories one long day,as you will see with everyone else snow, wind, hail......water over the bonet getting out though the flooded track.water was just a bit rough unfortunally.the run would be very close to a NM lenght cant wait for summer when the bank builds back up.
bad luck izaak just needed to hold it that few seconds longer, any way well done, proud of you!

5238 days ago 2 categories Well an extremely long and eventful day, especially for my first trip down the west coast to Henty! :) Felt pretty good to finally get out at this spot after hearing so much about it. Was a tad overpowered with the 5.6 and could probably have used a smaller sail but thats as low as i go at the moment. Experienced the elements like never before today quite an experience, however i have to say hail at 30 knots + hurts! Anyway nice to get quite a contingent together for the wild woolly west trip :)

5238 days ago This is what real winter sailing is all about not frollicking around in FMQ 'Boardies' but driving through miles and miles of snow dodging snow ploughs then when we were leaving Perks telling his crew in the back seat to lift their feet up the water is coming over the bonnet of the new Navara. Good stuff.
Road trip to Henty with Fubbs who was feeling crook and still managed a PB
Spewing your guts up at 28 knots is definatley a PB surely
Izaak what a machine I watched that run gutsy effort in that chop.
Just rang Dave they took a wrong turn and still have 330 kms to go to get home.
Just reached the rigging area no mud or rocks and all to ourselves

5238 days ago Good to be back at Henty and well done Izaak on getting that 40 clearly on the dial. Be no time now before you get the 2 sec 40+!! Pretty epic day today. Around 14hrs of driving (which is hard in TAS). Heavy snow and closed roads on the way made the trip across the central highlands very slow. Then we had the 4WD trek in and out of Henty - I hope it is never, ever like that again. Even the Prado had water come over the bonnet and across the windscreen wipers when we were coming back along the track - luckily fresh water!! Anyway, good to look back on now, but not so good at the time. Had to take the long way back as the central highlands would have been impassable in the evening. A few wrong turns and we had more than circumnavigated the whole of TAS!!
Sailing was pretty tough too!! I rigged the 5.6, not thinking it would be too powered up, but it ended up being enough although the chop was a bit of a killer and the floating logs and weed!! Got seven runs in all up and that was it. Although the run was washed out badly, I think when the swollen Henty River flushes, it should still be fine and hopefully a lot longer, deeper and wider!!

5237 days ago 2 categories Wow, what a day. First of big congrats to Izaac, dont be dissapointed with 39.9 its a fantastic effort. Dave drove for over 14 hours yesterday round trip with me in the back seat (sailing gear got the front seat). It was a day of driving dramas, going the wrong way, doing 50km Hr for 100km through icy snow, nearly getting badly bogged on the way out ( we were the last car out and had no moblie coverage). If we got bogged we would heave been in big trouble. Well done team for making the big effort and doing some great speeds.
I rigged the Reflex 6.2 and my next size down was 4.6. It was too windy and choppy for the 6.2 and only managed 2 runs on the Isoinc 50 and Select 27cm fin.
