5223 days ago Since there was no wind in Devil's bay, and there were rumors that wind is blowing elswere in the Egei, I decided to sail from Karpathos to Turkish coast - some 92 NM there and back. F2 Vento 125 lit and NS Slalom 7,0 was just right equipment for that tast. I took my passport with me. I was a subject to examination on the see border from Turkish custom officers - they checked quality of my sail and other sail boat security staff, such as enough spare ropes, a lille ancore in case I decided to rest somwhere, night light and so on. I past all that, and they told me how very impresed they are with quality of my sail - how good, nice and comfortable it is. However, the board barely passed their checking. They said, next time, I simply will not be alowed to enter Turkey with it. (Ok, ok, I know - next time I will bring also my bigger board). I was lucky they somehow miss to check the fin. Oh, my, it's so slogish that I will have to turn back imediately! But, they let me through.
So, except that, everything was just fine! I came back just in time for dinner! :-)
PS Well, there was quite nice wind on Karpathos (15-25kt) - I just decided to give up hard work of speeding (there would be anyway imposible to use speed board, and after yesterday I become quite fond of using it), and, for a change, do something else - like go the distance! :-) )
PPS Not to Turkei, of course. Just from Gun bay to Amopi on Karpathos - couple of dozens runs. :-)
