Island Bay NW10-25, out of the channel - small windchop on out-going, HW+3 to +4; iSonic 122, Venom 420, mb -1; Naish GP 7m8 - best combination ... John appeared just as I was about to launch - so we had it all to ourselves ... Maurice was driving in, just as I was driving out!  Good runs down to Te Atatu/ Pollen Island until the fin was dragging ... on the last run home went over the front as the fin hit, to find it had smashed thro' an old plastic bread tray!

Manly, NW 10-22kn, gusty, squally, choppy. Cleaner wind outside the bay but choppier.

CA xr 68, Whitewater 34, Simmer Fly 6.2m.

Influenced by some big gusts at the beach and rigged 6.2m but found 7.0m would have been better. Comfy in  some 20+ Kn squalls but off the plane a lot of the time. Fun riding  the swells on the outside.

Nice speeds Martin.

My 1st Sail for ages. Pt Chev 2-18 knots. Forgot to pack the universal joint, thanks to Pete Smith from PT Chev Windsurf School for leaning a joint. 400m walk to the water due to low tide. GPS Data is corrupt so using lower values.

Only managed 5 runs before the new harness let go & ripped.

KA Race 7.1m, KA Fin 37cm , 67cm Slalom Board, piece of pee to sail this gear thru the chop.

Hopeful for a speed sail at Kaipara Lagoon later this week & mix it with the fast 50+ knot Kiters.

Good going Martin, nice speeds for those conditions.

Now we're on the board for September.

I thought of going to Island Bay too but sailed a bit later than you and with the big tides at the moment didn't fancy finding the sand bars or getting stranded.
