LOCATION;  ANGLING CLUB

WIND:  W 15-20 KTS- GUSTY THEN MORE CONSISTENT

TIDE:  OUTGOING (MORNING) SLACK

SAILORS:  BUSTERS- OLD SALTY, B3, MADVENTURE, SAV, MOONDO

OTHERS:  KATO, DAN, ROB,BELINDA, GLEN, MARCUS, ASH

GEAR:  JP SuperSport 135, 40 cm g10 fin, KA Koyote 5.9

DETAILS:  IWC season opener day on the Inlet.  Wind was hugely gusty early on.  I got absolutely slammed on the second run out...totally winded after I hit the bar.  The mroning sess was very hit and miss.  A break for lunch and someone must have dialled in Huey!

The westerly became more consistant (around 18-20 kts) the tide was slack and the strip came alive at the Eastern end!

Supersport felt great with the new fin...it just wanted to go!

Highlights:   Seeing Kato absolutely flying down the strip..man, he can go!

Also seeing the Busters crew out there caning it

Bring on the next one!

Did not get a lot of time on water as not very fit.  Second time out on new board felt extremely comfortable in gusty conditions.  Was able to slingshot down the speed strip and go broad.  Little over finned at times but able to keep it under control.  Beat my pb of nearly a year ago 3 times posting a higher speed each time.  Last of the peak runs was at mid tide when I was first over the hump and everyone else followed.  Strange thing was it did not feel fast.  Koncept was rock solid in conditions I would normally have gone smaller

Sooooo close Doug. I do feel your pain, it took me a few close calls to get out of the 30s. A smaller fin next time and some more fitness and it will be yours
