Went to Hardie's with an hour in my sights. Good solid wind at the start which sadly dropped about 5 knots half way through. The last few minutes of the hour were an effort to stay on the plane and I dropped right of the plane at about 59/60 minutes with much cursing. About 10 minues later it booted back in!! You can see the way I went further and further downwind as the wind dropped. Good to have 2 good sails in 2 days though!!

Wind looked promising and starting to fill in as I was rigging so went the 6.5 hoping for a good hour. First 20mins was great then it just about turned off completely. So, decided to try the new 7 Reflex with a bigger fin in the IS. Hit the wind as the wind kicked right back up and took a while to dial the 7 properly. A little frustrating but a sunny and windy afternoon nonetheless makes for good fun.

5173 days ago 1 categories Got held up in the shed after a reli bash so was a bit late on the road to mandurah. Car was getting buffeted all the way down so I was getting a bit excited... As I pulled up to the boat ramp it was looking pretty good. By the time I'd parked (1 minute later) the wind looked a bit light. People not planing... etc. Bugger. Was thinking of rigging the 7.8m but then I thought it might just be a lull so went the 7m. I did a couple of runs underpowered before heading in. Missed PD's epic altercation with a submerged shopping trolley at the channel. I went through there just afterwards unaware of the hidden danger. Lucky me. The wind came back a bit so I went back out for a nice cruise with the remaining crew. There wasnt quite enough juice in the wind for faster speeds, and interestingly my four fastest 10 second runs were on the way back in to the carpark. I wasnt game to go down the run. It was really shallow. N54, EIII 7.0m proto, CL25 weed

5172 days ago Woodies with Ado and very few kiters, snapped my beloved antique sonic w52 just in front of the back foot straps the glass on the bottom holding it together long enough to dredge back to the car park (anyone know where I can get another one?)The C3 sling shot is a magic fin it even felt pretty good in the isonic 86 for the second half of the session.Trying to up the alpha pb and nailed some good turns ,but obviously need to work on the proximity thing.

5172 days ago Paid a visit to Woodies at the invitation of Recycle, and it was good to be back in home (warm) waters.
The breeze was up to around 22 at first but rapidly faded, leaving me with a decent swim way out the back, though it later filled in just enough to crank out some reasonable alphas.
The best part was the lack of kiters; only 4 or 5 on the flat side. Maybe this was because it is early in the season and we don't have many tourists yet? Anyway, there were more windsurfers than kiters which was great to see.
